This Acid Bite Wizard Build in Enshrouded focuses purely on getting the most damage out of your spells, predominantly Acid Bite. Although the build has Acid Bite as its main spell, you will have the backup of Fireball due to Acid Bite’s lack of range, and the fact that it can only be cast on the floor, so you’ll want to switch over to Fireball if you’re fighting a flying enemy, or if you want to hit something from distance. Read on to find out what you need to build a powerful wizard in Enshrouded.
Enshrouded Wizard Build: Skill Trees¶
This build will focus purely on making the build perform the best it can. There are a lot of “life” skills that are 100% worth taking, but it’ll cost you a lot of skill points if you get them all. The notable skills are:
- Mason - 2 Skill Points
- Miner - 4 Skill Points
- Lumberjack - 2 Skill Points
- Double Jump - 7 Skill Points
- More if you head further into the Survivor and Beastmaster trees.
If you do want these skills, and you probably will, you’ll need to remove some skills from the main build to get them. The level cap for Early Access is level 25, so you have a limited number of skill points to work with, hence the omission of the above skills. Saying that, you can respec at any time by interacting with your Flame Altar, and it’ll only cost you a handful of runes.
Wizard Tree¶
Starting at the Wizard Tree, you’ll want to head down the fire line, which has Arsonist and Pyromaniac. The reason for this is that you’ll be primarily using Fireball while you level, due to Acid Bite not being available until later on.
Skill | Description | Cost (Skill Points) |
---|---|---|
Spirit | Increases Mana by 20 points. | 1 |
This is the Way | When attacking with a magical weapon, all damage is increased by 10%. | 2 |
Quick Charge | Reduces the time Staffs are required to charge up a spell by 50%. | 3 |
Spirit | Increases Mana by 20 points. | 1 |
Arsonist | All fire damage is increased by an additional 10%. | 2 |
Pyromaniac | All fire damage is increased by an additional 20%. | 3 |
Intelligence | Increases Magic Damage by 5% per Attribute Point. | 1 |
Wizard | When attacking with a magic weapon, your critical hit chance is increased by 10%. | 3 |
Chain Hit | On a critical hit with a magical weapon, the attack will automatically hit a second enemy within 15 meters for 5 Shock damage per Intelligence. | 3 |
Mass Destruction | A critical hit with a magic weapon will hit all enemies within 20 meters of the target for 2 Shock damage per Intelligence. | 4 |
Intelligence | Increases Magic Damage by 5% per Attribute Point. | 1 |
– | Total Skill Points | 23 |
Considering this is a Wizard build, you may be wondering why there are not as many skill points invested into it. The reason is due to the build being primarily Acid Bite and Fireball focused, and the only thing that helps Acid Bite is Quick Charge, while Arsonist and Pyromaniac increase your fire damage. All that’s left afterward is the Intelligence and Spirit upgrades to increase your mana and damage. Finally, you’ll have the Wizard skill which gives you a flat 10% Critical Hit chance increase, and a couple of skills based on a critical hit. Now, if you want to utilize the other schools of magic, you could take points out of the Battlemage tree and put them on the other elements, but this build is specifically for fire and acid.
Trickster Tree¶
Skill | Description | Cost (Skill Points) |
---|---|---|
Spirit | Increases Mana by 20 points. | 1 |
Counterstrike | After receiving damage, there is a 20% chance to reflect 50% of the damage back to the attacker as fire damage. This magical attack can trigger other skills. | 2 |
Spirit | Increases Mana by 20 points. | 1 |
Intelligence | Increases Magic Damage by 5% per Attribute Point. | 1 |
Begone | A magic-powered punch that pushes and stuns hit foes. Replaces your unarmed attacks as long as you have 30 Mana. | 3 |
Intelligence | Increases Magic Damage by 5% per Attribute Point. | 1 |
Terror | On a critical hit with a spell, the target will be stunned for 4 seconds. | 4 |
Arcane Concentration | You will gain one spirit for every two levels of the Flame. | 5 |
– | Total Skill Points | 18 |
The Trickster tree gives you a lot of great passives, as well as the handy (pun intended) Begone skill which allows you to stun enemies with your bare hands. This is useful when an enemy rushes you, which would otherwise cause you to dodge and interrupt your spell.
Healer Tree¶
Skill | Description | Cost (Skill Points) |
---|---|---|
Intelligence | Increases Magic Damage by 5% per Attribute Point. | 1 |
Healer | Health gain from healing spells will be increased by 10%. | 2 |
Blink | Replaces the Dodge Roll ability with a short-range teleport. | 4 |
Emergency Blink | You can blink while being stunned. This will break the stunned state. | 2 |
Healer II | Health gain from healing spells will be increased by an additional 20%. | 2 |
Intelligence | Increases Magic Damage by 5% per Attribute Point. | 1 |
Water Aura | All players within 15 meters regenerate 1 health point per second for every point of your intelligence. | 3 |
Spirit | Increases Mana by 20 points. | 1 |
Martyr | When you are killed by an enemy, all allies within 50 meters will heal 30% of their maximum health. | 5 |
Intelligence | Increases Magic Damage by 5% per Attribute Point. | 1 |
Exalted | You will gain one intelligence for every two levels of the Flame. | 5 |
– | Total Skill Points | 27 |
The main reason for all the investment into the Healer tree is because of Exalted, and the other attribute passives. Blink and Emergency Blink could be considered a Battlemage skill as it’s in between both of the trees. Regardless of where it falls, you’ll want both as it allows you to blink out of a stun which can easily cause your death if you don’t have it.
Battlemage Tree¶
Skill | Description | Cost (Skill Points) |
---|---|---|
Intelligence | Increases Magic Damage by 5% per Attribute Point. | 1 |
Absorb | When you suffer magical damage, you have a 10% chance to generate 1 Mana for each health point lost. | 3 |
Intelligence | Increases Magic Damage by 5% per Attribute Point. | 1 |
Evasion Attack | When equipped with a melee weapon, you can perform an evade attack which dashes toward the enemy and deals more weapon damage with [LMB] | 4 |
Battle Heal | When dealing critical damage with a melee weapon, you will heal 5% of your maximum health. | 2 |
Spirit | Increases Mana by 20 points. | 1 |
Bloodletting | When scoring a critical hit with a magical weapon, there is a 50% chance to spawn 2 health, mana, and/or stamina orbs. Gathering the orbs replenishes 10% of the respective resource | 3 |
Life Burst | When killing an enemy with a magical weapon, all players within 15 meters of the target gain health equal to 3 times your intelligence. | 4 |
– | Total Skill Points | 30 |
There are a lot of good passives in the Battlemage tree, but you will be wasting some skill points on Evasion Attack and Battle Heal, as they require a melee weapon. Unfortunately, you need to get them if you want the skills beyond them. The main reason for going down this tree is for the three Intelligence and one Spirit skill nodes, but Bloodletting and Life burst are handy to have. The former will help you keep your mana up, meaning you can cast more spells (get the orbs!), while the latter gives you a passive heal. Finally, Exalted will give you +3 Intelligence when your Flame Altar is level six (max level). As stated above, you can ignore this tree if you would prefer to use the other elements in the Wizard tree, but you will be lowering your damage a little.
Recommended Wizard Armor and Consumables¶
Most of the gear for all the classes is level-dependent. You’ll generally get equipment at the following levels: 3, 5, 8, 13, 18, 20, and 25, with a few exceptions.
Weapons¶
Name | Location |
---|---|
Root Staff | Found in chests. Legendary versions can be found in Gold Chests. |
The Root Staff is a great staff for this build as it can come with + poison damage, which increases the damage of Acid Bite. In general, you want to find staffs with the following affixes: Precise (crit chance), Brutal (crit damage), and Mana Leech (leech 5% damage as mana). The weapon doesn’t matter too much here as long as it has the highest Power, so you’ll want a max level staff with Precise and Mana Leech. Any other affix is a bonus.
Armor¶
Name | Location |
---|---|
Alchemist Apprentice Set (Lv 8) | Crafted at the Alchemist. |
Mage Set (Lv 13) | Crafted at the Alchemist. |
Magician Set (Lv 18) | Crafted at the Alchemist. |
Archmage Set (Lv 23) | Crafted at the Alchemist. |
Spellbinder Set (Varies) | Found as loot, predominantly in chests. |
You’ll want to use the above sets at their respective levels. All of them outside the Spellbinder set can be crafted at the Alchemist, although you’ll have to progress his quest line to unlock the recipes. The best set is the Archmage set, and that is what you’ll want to wear at max level. If you find some Spellbinder pieces, compare them with the Archmage Set, and choose the one that has more critical chance/damage. For your rings, the Commander’s Ring is very nice as it’ll give you +30% mana, and 30 health. The other ring can be any type of mana regeneration ring you can find.
Meals¶
Name | Effects | Requirements |
---|---|---|
Grilled Red Mushroom | +2 Intelligence | Cooked at a Fireplace. Red mushrooms can be found in the starting area. |
Roasted Azure Russula | +3 Intelligence | Cooked at a Fireplace. Azure Russalas are typically found in caves from Revelwood onwards. |
Mushroom Omelett | +4 Intelligence | Crafted at the Farmer. Needs eggs which can be looted from the birds in the Nomad Highlands and Kindlewastes. |
Grilled Game | +3 Constitution | Loot Raw Game from Scavengers or Boars. Cook in the fireplace or camping fire. Scavengers can cook ready-made versions. |
Grilled Sand Digger | +4 Constitution | Loot from the animals in Kindlewastes. |
Meat Wrap | +5 Constitution, +1 Intelligence | Cooked in the Oven. Requires Flour that is made from wheat grains. |
You predominantly want to use one Constitution food as more health is always nice to have, and Intelligence to increase the damage you deal. Mushroom Omelett will give you an extra 20% damage, so make sure you always have the meal effect on you when doing dungeons or fighting tough enemies. Finally, if you have easy access to flour, eat a Meat Wrap instead of the other Constitution food, as it’ll give you one extra Intelligence.
Consumables¶
Name | Effects | Location |
---|---|---|
Water | +1 Endurance, +2 Stamina recharge | Obtained from water wells, or found across the world. |
Mana Potions | +80 Mana | Found or crafted at the Alchemist. |
Great Mana Potions | +150 Mana | Found or crafted at the Alchemist. |
Health Potions | +200 Health | Found in the world or crafted at the Alchemist. |
Greater Health Potions | +400 Health | Found in the world or crafted at the Alchemist. |
Revitalizing Health Potions | +800 Health | Found in the world or crafted at the Alchemist. |
Flask of the Fell | +20 Stamina | Found in the world or crafted at the Alchemist. |
Boiled Eggs | +3 Stamina Recharge, +3 Health Regeneration, +2 Mana Recharge | Crafted at the Farmer under “Other Food”. The Eggs can be looted from the birds in the Nomad Highlands and Kindlewastes. |
Finally, you have consumables. The health and mana potions are no-brainers as they will replenish either your health or mana respectively. Then you have the Flask of the Fell, which gives you a flat extra 20 stamina that helps with dodging. Finally, you have Boiled Eggs which are great to have as your third meal effect due to the amount of bonuses they provide, and they last for 40 minutes too.
There you have it, a glass cannon Wizard Build which deals tremendous damage to foes, both at a distance and at close range. Note that with this build, you don’t want to be getting hit too often as your health is on the low side. You could give yourself some more survivability if you dropped some Battlemage tree skills and added some Constitution passives from the tank/barbarian trees, but this will lower your overall damage.
