General Description: The Samurai class most readily mirrors its Final Fantasy V counterpart. The main purpose for that analogy is the Spare Change ability: throw your Gil at the enemy to deal flat damage, which can be interesting, although expensive! There’s also Mirror of Equity, a skill valuable if you break the HP limit (since it could do up to 50,000 per hit with the highest HP). There’s also Momentum, a valuable skill if you grind a lot, as it effectively does damage equal to the number of enemies killed: kill 99,999 enemies and deal the max damage with every hit! But, honestly, the Samurai is mostly a job class full of quirky abilities than anything oriented towards something; with the right mindset, you could probably make some use of it. It is quite a strong class however, and it definitely has its uses.

  • General Info:
  • *Obtained:* Chapter 3, in Kilika Temple - *For Whom?:* Yuna, Rikku, and Paine - *General Stat Increases:* HP, Strength - *General Stat Decreases:* MP, Defense, Magic Defense, Evasion
  • - **Abilities Learned:**

  • **Mirror of Equity - Auto - 16 MP Cost:** Deals damage to the target equal to the difference in the user's current and max HP, divided by two. Maxes at 9,999 (difference of 19,998 HP) without Break Damage Limit and Break HP Limit, and 49,999 with (1/99,999 HP). - **Spare Change - 20 AP - 0 MP Cost:** You throw Gil at the enemy to deal damage. Damage is flat and unaffected by anything, except simply for the amount of Gil which you throw. Damage done via Spare Change is equal to **(Gil * 22) / ((Gil)^0.5 + 20)** . - **Magicide - 30 AP - 4 MP Cost:** Unblockable damage to the target's MP.
  • **Dismissal - 30 AP - 10 MP Cost:** Damages the target physically. Additionally, if they were charging up for an attack (like the purple ATB gauge you get when charging), the action is cancelled.
  • **Fingersnap - 40 AP - 10 MP Cost:** Damages the target physically. Also removes all stat increases AND decreases from them.
  • - **Sparkler - 40 AP - 12 MP Cost:** Physical damage to the target which assumes their Defense is zero.

  • **Fireworks - 60 AP - 18 MP Cost:** Physical damage to all enemies, which assumes their Defense is zero.
  • **SOS Critical - 80 AP - 0 MP Cost:** The user will always deal critical hits at 1/3 or less HP. - **Momentum - 60 AP - 10 MP Cost:** Damages the target physically. Damage is equal to the number of enemies the user has killed, plus the base damage of a normal Attack. In other words, it's just as strong as Attack the minute the game starts. If you kill 99,999 enemies, you have a guaranteed 99,999-damage attack.
  • **Shin-Zantetsuken - 100 AP - 32 MP Cost:** Could KO all enemies. - * **Zantetsu - 140 AP - 0 MP Cost:** Can KO an enemy instantly. This is independent of their immunity to Death: each enemy inherently has a separate stat for their Zantetsu immunity. The greater your Level, the better your success rate.
  • - **Nonpareil - 20 AP - 10 MP Cost:** The user's Strength is boosted by two levels (+1/6), and their Accuracy by ten levels (+5/6).

  • **No Fear - 30 AP - 12 MP Cost:** The user gains Protect and Shell, halving their physical and magical damage intakes.
  • **Clean Slate - 40 AP - 16 MP Cost:** The user regains 25% of their max HP and has Poison, Silence, Darkness, Slow, Curse, and Pointless cured.
  • **Hayate - 60 AP - 20 MP Cost:** The user gets Haste (Agility x 2) and their Evasion is raised ten levels (+10/12).
