Back on the Celsius, head to the Cabin, as we do at the start of every Chapter (or should do). Feel free to shop from Barkeep, though nothing’s changed from Chapter 3; rather, as usual, you’re supposed to rest in the beds for a scene. Also head to the Engine Room for four newly-refilled chests: seven Phoenix Downs , three Turbo Ethers , six Remedies , and eight Hi-Potions !

Head back to the elevator and head to the Deck now. Speak with Paine (or blow her off). After the scene, head to the Bridge. There, you’ll get a scene in which you will end up getting several Al Bhed Primers - you get a bonus one for not paying off O’aka’s debt back in Chapters 1 and 2, though you’ll probably make that up if you did. Speak with Shinra next and you’ll note that you can look into the CommSphere Network: basically, you can look through the CommSpheres you placed back in Chapter 3.

Right now, there are four areas to look in: Besaid, Kilika, Mushroom Rock Road, and Bevelle. Connect to all four in whatever order you wish. However, there are some 100%-critical scenes involving them you’ll want to view:

Looking through the Commspheres here is required for 100% completion.

  • In Besaid , you’ll want to turn the camera to the right until you see Wakka’s house. Wait a while and Wakka will speak with you. That’s the scene.
  • In Kilika , you’ll want to turn the camera to the right and speak with Dona.
  • In Mushroom Rock … well, the scene occurs pretty quickly regardless of what you do. To the curious, the CommSphere here will be thrown into the nearby ocean if you happened to side with New Yevon.
  • In Bevelle , you’ll wait a bit before someone appears and talks with you. Turn the camera around a little bit if he doesn’t appear in a couple of minutes, then turn it back. If you sided with the Youth League, the CommSphere is shot soon thereafter.

After the scenes, speak with the mission navigator on the left. Then, after the brief talk, speak with Paine until she mentions the Hymn of the Fayth. After that’s over with, speak with Shinra and you can look through the CommSpheres you put throughout Spira. You don’t have to look through them, but it is required for 100%. Otherwise, head to the section Chapter 4 - Moonflow , as the next story mission is there in the Moonflow.
