Bring your toughest, most trusted units along for this chapter. We don’t have a lot of spaces to bring units, so be picky about who you bring here! Make sure your units are equipped with Sting Shuriken and Armorslayers, and have some magic units, as there are lots of armored units abound in this map and you’re gonna have a bad day if you can’t make it past their high Defense.

The big thing to notice about this chapter is the Fire Orb, the Launchers and the Forts. There will be enemy reinforcements showing up soon from the forts and will continue to do so throughout the chapter. In addition you can use the Fire Orb and the Launchers to deal some damage, and the enemies are unafraid to do the same thing back to you.

There’s way too many reinforcements for your small army. Oh no…

At the beginning of Turn 2, you’ll see those reinforcements come out in droves. Lots of Generals too. But thankfully, before you and your Avatar can begin to despair, your Nohrian brothers, Xander , the crown prince, and Leo , the cute otouto, will come showing up to your rescue to aid your army. Both are prepromoted and have the stats to take on this chapter so make liberal use of them. Xander’s weapon Siegfried, like Ryoma’s Rajinto, can hit both at melee and at range, and it hits like a truck. The only downfall of the two brothers is their low Speed, but their tankiness makes up for it.

But thankfully the rest of your Nohrian siblings are here to save the day!

On Turn 3, you get four new allies in the form of Xander and Leo’s retainers. Xander’s retainers are Laslow and Peri . Laslow is a Mercenary and is faster but more fragile than Selena. Peri is a Cavalier and so will remain mostly in Xander’s shadow. Leo’s retainers are Odin and Niles . Odin is a Dark Mage but has pretty good Strength too, and Niles is an Outlaw, so he uses the Bow and is fast but fragile. They vary in strength here, but are universally very underleveled compared to their own stats. The balancing here is very poor and they will be easily one-shot but almost every enemy present. So save the TLC for scouting and just pair them up or stuff them in the corner.

Xander and Leo are quite possibly the only people that can stand up to the enemies here from your new allies. Have them unite with the main bulk of your forces as soon as possible! Leo will be particularly good for hitting the Generals and Great Knights.

Iago will finally have what’s been coming to him!

Iago is a Sorcerer . So prey upon his low Defense. Be wary of the Fire Orb and Launcher users on the enemy’s side, and keep all flying units out of the way of the Launchers until the Bow Knights using them are dead. Reinforcements will continually arrive until you can defeat Iago and Seize the tile he was standing on. Then it’s off to the bottom of the canyon to finally enter Valla as a group. You’ll be able to save and visit MyCastle after this.
