Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury

World 4-Castle: Lava Rock Lair

By
Jarrod Garripoli

As you move forward at the beginning of the level, a Brolder will pop out of the ground, but you don’t want to toss this one into the lava. A little further ahead are two panels, so toss the Brolder onto one of the two panels, then stand on the other one to cause a bridge to fall down. This will allow you to access Green Star #1 on the other side of the bridge that falls. Note that if you are playing this in multiplayer, you won’t need to use the Brolder, as one person can stand on each panel.

(1 of 2) You need a Brolder on the one switch in order to reach the first Green Star

You need a Brolder on the one switch in order to reach the first Green Star (left), The second Green Star is similar to the first, except you have another switch and a timer (right)

Continue on with the level, jumping across the lava to a platform with a Red Ring. Collecting all eight Red Coins yields a needed Super Bell, if you lack a Cat Suit. Leap past the Lava Bubbles on your way to the clear pipe which takes you on a pleasant “underlava” trip. Check out the Mystery Box to the right, where you’ll find yourself in a room with two Brolders and three P Switches, with you only having 10 seconds. If you’re with friends, jump on the P-Switches and claim Green Star #2. If not, quickly jump on the Brolders and throw them on the P Switches, then jump on one yourself and quickly grab the Green Star.

(1 of 2) The Stamp is on top of the left wall by the bridge

The Stamp is on top of the left wall by the bridge (left), You can toss a Brolder to collect the third Green Star (right)

After you exit, instead of moving onto the bridge, climb up the left wall to find the Stamp high above. Jump down and snag a Brolder, as you march to the end of the bridge, chucking it off the left end into Green Star #3 for a crafty pick up. Remember that in the Switch version, you will keep any Green Star you grab, no matter if you die or not, so it is possible to sacrifice a life in order to get this Green Star, too. Take this opportunity to grab another Super Bell from the Goomba tower, before heading into the pipe to face the boss.

BOSS - Boss Brolder

The battle starts with Boss Brolder spawning three Brolders and rolling after you. Quickly jump on a Brolder, then toss it into Boss Brolder. Boss Brolder will roll over his minions and destroy them, so if he manages to do this to all three, you will have to avoid him until he summons more. Once hit, Boss Brolder will spin wildly throwing lava rocks onto the circular arena. Even if you have another Brolder handy, you can’t damage him while spinning. After he calms down, Boss Brolder will spawn more minions and the cycle repeats. More hits cause Boss Brolder to spin faster and shoot more lava rocks, so dodge as much as possible.

(1 of 2) You will need to toss the Brolders at Boss Brolder in order to damage him

You will need to toss the Brolders at Boss Brolder in order to damage him (left), The lava rocks shot out by Boss Brolder are completely random (right)

Exit to the Goal Pole area and grab the clock, then touch the pole to save the Sprixie Princess.
