There are lots of challenging V Blood Bosses lurking around in V Rising and this page details how to find and kill the V blood boss, Kriig the Undead General which was formerly known as the Undead Commander before the Secrets of Gloomrot update. Defeating this fiend will provide you with the Reaper and !Skeleton Priest Recipes, ‘Nocturne’ Door Bell Structure and a Tier 2 Unholy Spell Point.
Kriig the Undead General Location¶
Track Kriig via the V Blood Menu and follow the trail to the Haunted Iron Mine which is located in the center of Dunley Farmlands. However, before you venture out and challenge this boss, we recommend that you get your gear level to around 50 and this can be done by crafting the Hollowfang set which can be crafted via the Tailoring Bench.
Kriig the Undead General Strategy¶
Kriig the Undead General is another fairly straightforward boss but he has a few attacks that you’ll need to pay close attention to in order to avoid taking unnecessary damage. The main challenge of this boss is trying to avoid his attacks as you’re left with very little room to maneuver and Meredith the Bright Archer can also be found roaming around this area, so you’ll want to try and keep Kriig as far away as possible otherwise you might find yourself fighting both of them at the same. You can learn about the attacks that Kriig has up his sleeve below:
Unholy Explosion¶
Kriig will raise his scythe and conjure an unholy circle around his body. If you stand in this then you’ll get hit by an explosion which will deal moderate damage, so you’ll want to keep your distance until it disappears.
Unholy Anchor¶
Kriig will sometimes fire out three Anchors in your direction and these will pull you towards him if they make contact. If you get hit, then he’ll typically follow this up with Unholy Explosion. The best way to avoid this is by standing further back or by standing in between them.
Unholy Whirlwind¶
Kriig will perform multiple spins at high speeds which will gradually deplete your health if you stand in it, so we recommend that you run in the opposite direction until he stops.
Overall, Kriig the Undead General shouldn’t cause you too much of a problem as long as you keep your distance and carefully weave any spells you have available when you see an opening. If you see Kriig hold out a shield, then you’ll want to avoid attacking until he removes it otherwise you’ll be allowed to summon additional enemies.
