There are many materials scattered around the world in V Rising and these are needed to craft better armor/weapons. Coarse Thread is needed to craft multiple armor sets fairly early on in your adventure and on this page, we’ll navigate you through the necessary steps to find it!
Finding Coarse Thread¶
The start of the game will require you to defeat Keely the Frost Archer, Errol the Stonebreaker, and Rufus the Foremen to unlock some of the basic crafting recipes. These V Bosses are level 20+ so you’ll want to craft the Grim Ranger Armor Set to improve your survivability. Unfortunately, this armor set will require Coarse Thread which isn’t a material that can be obtained from the comforts of your base, so you’ll need to venture out and track some down.
It can typically be found by defeating the enemies or by scavenging the chests in the various camps, such as Bandit and Logging Camps. If you don’t want to waste time running around the map, then we recommend that you open up the map and hover over the camps to see what loot can be found. You’ll stumble across fairly difficult enemies in the camps (depending on your level), so you’ll want to make sure you’ve got the best weapon/armor available equipped to give yourself a fighting chance.
With Coarse Thread in your possession, you’ll want to craft the Simple Workbench which requires 8 Planks, 80 Stones, and 120 Animal Hide and then you can craft the Nightstalker Armor Set which increases your max health and physical power, but more importantly it’ll increase weapon cooldown recovery rate by 8%.
