There are lots of challenging V Blood Bosses lurking around in V Rising and this page details how to find and kill the V blood boss, Maja the Dark Savant which was added in the Secrets of Gloomrot update. If you manage to defeat her, then you’ll be rewarded with a variety of structures, recipes and a Tier 1 Illusion Spell Point.
Maja the Dark Savant Location¶
Maja the Dark Savant is a level 47 boss, so we recommend that you aim to have your gear level around 50 to make things a little easier (especially if you intend on facing her solo) and this can be done by crafting the Hollowfang set which can be done via the Tailoring Bench. Additionally, you’ll want to have the Scholar Blood Type which can be obtained from some of the enemies in the Silverlight Hills area. This will give you increased spell power and reduced the cooldown time. With your equipment up to scratch, track Maja the Dark Savant via the V Blood menu and then fast travel to the Vampiric Waygate to the northeast of Dunley Farmlands. From here, follow the trail to the Forbidden Tower and Maja will be waiting from within.
Maja the Dark Savant Strategy¶
You’ll notice that Maja is one of the more challenging bosses added in the Secrets of Gloomrot and as a result will require a bit of a strategy instead of trying to brute force it. The first thing to note is that there is little room to maneuver due to the size of the tower and most of her attacks will also take up the majority of this space so you’ll want to use your skills wisely to avoid them. You’ll want to keep your distance and chip away at her health with blood magic based spells, as this will allow you to leech health off her throughout, then when she begins to start attacking back you’ll want to focus on avoiding these before continuing your onslaught.
You can learn about the attacks that Maja may use against you below:
Summoning Bolt¶
Maja will attempt to hit you with a single bolt throughout the battle, but if you’re standing far enough away then you can simply avoid this by moving to the side. If this connects, then it’ll summon an add which you should be able to eliminate quickly.
Shield Channeling¶
Maja will summon multiple ads throughout the battle, if you don’t defeat these quickly then she’ll start to absorb one of them with her shield. If she pulls this off then she’ll be able to heal herself and summon even more adds to the party. We recommend saving Ward of the Damned for this stage of the fight, as it’ll allow you to temporarily block the barrage of melee attacks.
Homing Books¶
One of the most common attacks Maja will use will focus around books, she’ll sometimes launch three to six books at you which will deal moderate damage to you. The best way to avoid this is to save your dash and then use it as the books come towards you as this will give you some invincibility frames. Alternatively, you can attack them before they reach you with a bow.
Maja the Dark Savant Rewards¶
When you defeat Maja, you’ll unlock the recipes for Scrolls and Midnight Ball Gown & Nobleman Suit/Pants and the Verdant Garden Fencing and Wall Hanging Shelves structures. Additionally, you’ll get a Tier 1 Illusion Spell Point which will allow you to add some more skills to your arsenal.
