As you progress deeper in V Rising, you may go into areas that give you various debuffs if you stay in there too long. This page will explain to you what Silver Exposure is, and how you can manage it.
What is Silver Exposure¶
When you get to the later stages of the game, you’ll begin to encounter Silver Exposure, although if you pick up Silver Coins earlier on, you’ll find out about Silver Exposure a bit earlier on.
What does Silver Exposure do¶
When you’re carrying silver whether that be coins or ore, you’ll get the “Silver Sickness” debuff. This debuff will slowly deplete your health depending on how many stacks of Silver Sickness you have, and whether you have any Silver Resistance. Whilst carrying 40 Silver Coins without any Silver Resistance, you’ll have 6 stacks, and take 4 damage per second. If you have the same coins with 15 Silver Resistance, you won’t take any damage, although you’ll still have the 6 stacks.
At 70 Silver Coins without any Silver Resistance, you’ll have 11 stacks, and take 7 damage per second. Once again, having at least 15 Silver Resistance will negate the damage you take. Looking at the math, it appears that 1-6 coins will give you one stack of Silver Sickness, but as soon as you have 7 coins, you’ll gain another stack. When you have 14 coins, you’ll have 3 stacks, and 21 coins will give you 4 stacks, and so on. Also, it appears that providing you have at least 15 Silver Resistance, you won’t take any damage with 70 silver coins which’ll give you 11 stacks of Silver Sickness.
How to remove Silver Sickness¶
The way that the Silver Sickness debuff works is that you’ll only get it whilst you carry anything silver. The second you remove it from your inventory, the sickness will immediately be removed. If you need to carry a lot of silver for whatever reason, you can nullify the damage you’ll take by increasing your Silver Resistance by drinking consumables, equipping gear or using powers.
Increasing your Silver Resistance¶
In the character screen accessed by tapping , you’ll see the resistances to the right of your character. This will display all of your current resistances against each harmful effect such as Sun, Garlic, Holy, Fire, and Silver. By increasing your resistance to Silver, it’ll reduce the damage you receive from Silver attacks by 7.5%, as well as the maximum stacks you can receive. For example, 15 Silver resistance will reduce the application of the stacks you can withstand up to 12 before you’ll take any damage. So it’s always recommended when farming areas where silver will be a problem by getting as much resistance to it as possible.
How to increase Silver Resistance¶
There are various methods to increase your resistance to Silver. One way is by using consumables for a temporary buff which can last up to 20 minutes. The other and more permanent solution is by equipping gear that comes with Silver Resistance + X. Below you can find a list of all the consumables and equipment that can help you stave off Garlic Exposure.
