Cyberpunk 2077

I've Seen That Face Before Walkthrough

By
Nathan Garvin

The ninth main job of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, this job begins as soon as you leave Farida’s clinic, following the installation of the Behavioral Imprint-Synched Faceplate. While the previous mission, Birds With Broken Wings, was mostly preparation and character building, while this one actually involves a bit of work. This page will provide a walkthrough for the main job I’ve Seen That Face Before, with details on how to unlock the hidden side job Voodoo Treasure.

(1 of 3) After calling Reed, head to a vantage point overlooking the entrance to Dogtown,

How to Find the Netrunner Twins’ Car

As with most main jobs in Phantom Liberty, Reed and Songbird are deeply involved. You should get a message from Songbird shortly after leaving Farida’s clinic, which is mostly just a pep talk. Fortunately, the initiative to actually get the ball rolling is on you, and it’s worth warning that we’re about to get to the point where we have to start making hard choices and burning bridges, so now’s a good time to finish up gigs and side jobs in Dogtown… not that you can’t do them later, but if you’re getting awfully close to the point where you’ll want to make a hard save before you commit to some choices that actually have endgame consequences. Nice to have a save that can be reloaded, in case you don’t like how certain things play out in the long run.

When you’re ready to get started, call Reed, and after he mentions a complication head to the Golden Pacific fast travel station to find some high ground overlooking the entrance to Dogtown. Climb up to the marked vantage point using some scaffolding and wait, and when the time and weather are ripe for the operation at hand (read: dark and rainy) it’ll be time to locate the twins’ car. All you have to do is scan vehicles (they’ll be highlighted yellow) as they enter Dogtown and drive uphill from the right. This will take a while, so don’t get flustered - the twins should be up shortly after a pair of motorcycles drive past. Once you’ve ID’d the twins it’ll be time to intercept them. No need to fuss over this part, either, as the twins will stop for some entertainment before their meetup with Hansen. All you have to do is drop down to street level, then follow the road northeast towards the stadium to find the parked car - it’s actually under the road, so drop on down and follow the quest trail to reach your destination. After a brief chat with Reed, you’ll need to hop in the trunk.

(1 of 3) Calibrate the vehicle’s ICE to buy yourself more time,

How to Kidnap the Twins and Unlock the Secret Job Voodoo Treasure

Once you’re in the trunk you’ll have to switch between the cameras with DualSense-DPad-LR to ensure you have control of the car’s cameras. After switching a few times you’ll get the option to manipulate the car’s ICE, which will buy you more time in an upcoming timed event, just pick the option [Intelligence 15] “ICE here - clearly optimizable.”. Fuss around with the vehicle’s ICE if you can, or not, but either way, once you’re done time will skip until the twins are done frolicking. When they’re in the car they’ll start talking, and Reed will encourage you to hijack the car. If you want to unlock a hidden side job, however, you’ll need to eavesdrop - pick the following options to unlock the aforementioned hidden side job:

  • “Hold on, wanna eavesdrop.”
  • “It’s ok, chill.”
  • “Gimme a sec!”

Stall three times and Aurore will mention a file called “Blind_n_Dead”, which is the indication that you’ve unlocked the side job. Or at least, unlock the trigger which will unlock the side job, shortly.

In any event, eventually, you’ll need to override the vehicle controls, and then drive the commandeered vehicle to the location marked on the map. While you do this, however, the twins will attempt to trace you and break through your ICE, as indicated by a red bar (or two red bars - recalibrating the vehicle’s ICE gives you more time) on the top of the screen. Should these bars deplete fully, they’ll fry you, earning you a rather ignominious game over. Further complicating this endeavor is the breakthrough the twins have during the hijacking sequence, temporarily seizing back control and turning the vehicle around, which amounts to a lost chunk of time that you just have to budget for. That said, the drive isn’t particularly long or perilous, but it’s worth noting that the sooner you hijack the car, the easier this will be. If you can’t recalibrate the vehicle’s ICE and try to unlock the hidden side quest, you might end up cutting it close.

(1 of 3) After the twins have been dealt with, take a Netrunner Suit,

Make it to the destination in time and Reed and Alex will take control of matters, allowing you to roleplay V’s reaction. Whatever you say, it doesn’t really matter. When prompted, pick up the Netrunner Suit, then jack into Aurore. If you eavesdropped on them earlier you can pick the option Search file - Blind_n_Dead, which unlocks the side job [Voodoo Treasure]. Grab it if you can, then pick the option Download access codes, put on the Netrunner Suit, get in the twins’ car, and after some chatter this quest will end and the follow-up main job Firestarter will begin.
