The Glen | Complete the Main Job The Rescue |
Description¶
Beat on the Brat: The Glen is a subquest of the Beat on the Brat superquest, one of the four Side Jobs you must complete before you can challenge the final fighter at the end of the Beat on the Brat questline.
Beat on the Brat: El Cesar¶
You’ll find El Cesar - the champion of The Glen - along the south-central end of the district, just southeast of the Ventura & Skyline fast travel terminal. Seek him out and you’ll interrupt a conversation between him and his soon-to-be baby mama, who doesn’t seem to think this is much of a long-term profession. Lady, you don’t know how right you are - the rewards for finishing this quest are terrible.
Anywho… after the lovers are done squabbling, talk to Cesar and he’ll put his ride up against your eddies. Match his offer, then head into the court to start the fight.
Cesar has numerous abilities, including Combat Stim, Sandevistan, Charge Jump and Kerenzikov, but he’ll largely make use of Sandevistan, using his cybernetically enhanced reaction times to charge at you and perform a leaping strike. As impressive as this may be, if you keep facing him you can just block this attack and follow up with a few retaliatory strikes. That’s… really all you need to do to win this fight.
Afterwards, talk to Cesar, who is a far better sport than some other Beat on the Brat opponents were. Anyways, you can take pity on Cesar - or perhaps more accurately, his disturbingly pregnant girlfriend and their future child - by taking less than your due:
-
“Thanks for the new ride.”: You get double the amount of eddies you paid for the fight and Cesar’s car, Alvarado “Vato”.
-
“Keep the eddies. Car’s all I want.”: You forfeit the eddies you paid for the fight, but you get Cesar’s car, Alvarado “Vato”.
-
“Give me the cash, but you keep the car.”: You get double the amount of eddies you paid for the fight, but you do not get Cesar’s car.
-
“Nah, you keep the car and the money.”: You don’t get any eddies, nor do you get Cesar’s car.
If you take all you’re due, Cesar still accepts defeat with dignity, and he’s equally thankful if you show charity and let him keep the eddies, his car, or both. Either way, that’s the end of this Side Job.
