There are currently three main versions of the Dead Space 2023 Remake that you can purchase ready for the release date of Friday, January 27th 2023. These are the base game (including a pre-purchase offer valid until release), the Digital Deluxe Edition, and the Exclusive Collector’s Edition. We’ll take you through what each version provides and whether it’s worth your money.
Dead Space 2023 Special Edition Features¶
Base Game and Pre-Purchase Offer For Dead Space 2¶
You’ll have access to all the playable content that the game has to offer if you purchase just the base game of Dead Space 2023, so you’re not missing out on any stories, puzzles, side quests, or other paywalled content. However, if you’re able to snag the game before release by pre-ordering it, you’ll get Dead Space 2 (released in 2011) for free, allowing you to continue the story, albeit in a rather dated form by today’s standards, immediately after completing the remake.
Digital Deluxe Edition¶
As mentioned above, the Digital Deluxe Edition doesn’t come with any new playable content. Instead, it will offer you some snazzy cosmetics in the form of three unique suits and two suite textures. You can see these in the screenshot below, and decide whether you think they’re worth the extra money (+£10 in our case).
Exclusive Collector’s Edition on Limited Run¶
There’s also a third option for any diehard Dead Space fans out there in the form of the Collector’s Edition. This is an exclusive, limited time offer going for $274.99 at Limited Run which includes a standard copy of the game on your platform of choice (PC, PS5 or Xbox), the Digital Deluxe cosmetics, a 4“ metal Marker statue, Marker enamel pin, SteelBook, Lithograph Print, Ishimura Patch, 4 mini posters, and a wearable, light-up Issac helmet. You’ll also get a fancy box which all of this comes in, but whether it’s worth the massive increase in price will depend on your particular level of fanaticism for the franchise. You may have to wait a while for the physical goods to arrive, but you’ll get a key for the game on your preferred platform on the day of release.
