Dead Space Remake will throw a variety of Necromorphs at you whilst you work your way through the Ishimura, so this page is designed to give you all necessary information to make taking them down easier.
Best Way To Defeat All Necromorphs in Dead Space Remake¶
There are lots of Necromorphs scattered throughout Ishimura. However, the more common ones you’ll come across will be easier to take down whereas the rarer ones will be tougher and require more strategy to beat.
Dividers Weaknesses and How To Defeat¶
The Divider is one of the more common enemies you’ll face and they a weak to explosive damage, but they can be easily defeated by using the Plasma Cutter and shooting off their arms. If you’re struggling to aim for it, then consider using Stasis to slow them down.
Guardians Weaknesses and How To Defeat¶
Guardians are stuck to the wall and they’ll spawn Pods, so you’ll need to deal with them quickly otherwise you’ll find yourself in a dangerous situation. This enemy is weak to explosive damage, so the best way to deal with them is via the Flamethrowers special ability “Fire Wall” which is activated with on Playstation or on Xbox,
Exploders Weaknesses and How To Defeat¶
Guardians have a large explosive sac on their arm, so you’ll want to keep your distance and shoot it with a to cause them to explode.
Infector Weaknesses and How To Defeat¶
If you come across an Infector, then you’ll want to shift all your attention onto it, because as the name suggests ill infect nearby corpses which cause them to become a Necromorph. They have no weaknesses, so you’ll just want to slow them down with Stasis and rain down Pulse Rifle bullets on it.
Leaper Weaknesses and How To Defeat¶
Leapers walk on all fours and are one of the more speedy Necromorphs in the game, so they’ll be able to get very close to you. You’ll want to slow them down with Stasis and back away to create some distance, then aim for their chunky arms with the Plasma Cutter or Ripper.
Lurker Weaknesses and How To Defeat¶
Lurkers are a little tricky to take down as they’re really small. They don’t have any weaknesses, so the only way to take them down is by shooting the three tentacles with the Plasma Cutter or Line Gun. Additionally, they’ll be able to fire projectiles at you, so you’ll want to keep moving to avoid getting hit.
Pregnant Weaknesses and How To Defeat¶
You’ll notice a large sac on the stomach of Pregnant Necromorphs, so you’ll want to make sure you avoid this at all costs, as shooting will kill the enemy, but it’ll unleash several smaller enemies which will attach themselves to Issac. Alternatively, use Stasis and cut of the arms with the Line Gun or Plasma Cutter.
Slasher Weaknesses and How To Defeat¶
Slasher’s don’t have any specific weaknesses, so the only way to take these down is by using Stasis and cutting off the arms with the Line Gun or Plasma Cutter. However, you’ll want to keep your distance because as the name suggests they’ll slash you if they get in close proximity causing lots of damage.
Swarmers Weaknesses and How To Defeat¶
Swarmers come large groups will attach themselves you, so you’ll have to press on Playstation or on Xbox multiple times to get rid off them. During this time you’ll be unable to shoot, so if there are any enemies nearby you’ll be an easy target. The best way to deal with these enemies is by unleashing the full force of the Flamethrower.
Twitcher Weaknesses and How To Defeat¶
Twitchers are an enemy you’ll come across a lot later in the game, and they are very quick which makes them frightening to go up against. They don’t have any specific weaknesses, so the best way to take them down is by using Stasis and using the Line Gun to cut off their arms.
Wheezer Weaknesses and How To Defeat¶
Wheezer is another enemy you’ll come across a lot later in the games, and they don’t actually attack you, so their only purpose is to poison the air which means you can’t ignore them and need to deal with them quickly. You don’t have to worry about what weapon you use as anything will work against these.
Spitters Weaknesses and How To Defeat¶
Spitters as the name suggests will spit at you and as a result causing damage, so you’ll want to use stasis to slow them down and shoot their head to prevent that from happening. After you’ve successfully decapitated the head you’ll want to use the Line Gun to remove the arms and they’ll be defeated.
Brute Weaknesses and How To Defeat¶
Brutes are one of the tougher opponents you’ll face in Ishimura later in the games, so you’ll need some kind of strategy to take them down. Their weak points are on their back, so you’ll want to use Stasis to slow them and and walk around to their back and use the Flamethrower to take them with ease.
Hunter Weaknesses and How To Defeat¶
Hunters are one of the Necromorphs that cannot be defeated until a lot later in the game, so now all you can do is use Stasis on them to slow them down and escape into another room. The Tentacle Weaknesses and How To Defeat¶
The Tentacle isn’t a normal enemy as it’ll only appear in certain rooms throughout the story. It’ll grab you and you’ll need to focus fire on the glowing sac within a short amount of time otherwise it’ll pull you into its cave which will result in death. The best weapons for this enemy is the Pulse Rifle or Contact Beam.
