There are multiple minigames in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes and completing them will allow you to recruit other characters to the Alliance. Card Battle is a unique card game that has been created solely for Eiyuden and on this page we’ll explain how the game works along with some tips to get you started.
Unlocking Glen and Card Battle¶
In order to unlock the Card Battle minigame you’ll need to progress through the main story until you reach the maing quest, Euchrisse, the Land of Water, then you’ll want to return to Arenside (Grum County) and speak with Glen who can be found over to the western side of the village. If you don’t want to run all the back through the areas, you can recruit Carrie in Hishahn by following our Unlocking Fast Travel page and fast travel over to it.
Beating him will recruit him to the Alliance and unlock the Card Battle Minigame, allowing you to challenge players you’ve met/recruited back at the Headquarters once you’ve built both the Trade Building and Card Shop via the blueprints. Additionally, you’ll be able to acquire new cards by purchasing decks from Glen, each pack has a higher chance for rarer cards and you can increase the stock by purchasing blueprints at higher HQ ranks. As you purchase card packs, you’ll get characters which have skills that will affect how many points you get in each field.
Card Battle Rules¶
You’ll need to have the highest AP (Area Points) in order to beat your opponent in Card Battle and these can be obtained by winning the field by having the higher score. Card Battle works a little like poker, so if you want to get the most amount of points per field, then you’ll want to form a sequence with the cards you play, such as a Straight, Same Kind, Flush, and Straight Flush.
If you want to get the most points then you’ll want to aim for a Straight Flush as it’ll provide you with three AP on top of the AP provided by the field itself. We recommend that you try and aim for a Straight Flush on the field that offers three AP in order to maximize the amount of AP you can earn. However, the amount of AP available in each field is random in each match so you’ll want to pay close attention so you don’t miss out on the extra points.
Sequence | AP |
---|---|
Straight | 1 |
Flush | 1 |
Same Kind | 2 |
Straight Flush | 3 |
Straight¶
A Straight is acquired by playing three cards that are consecutive numbers, such as 678 or 432. Unfortunately, this will only bag you one extra AP so you’ll want to use this method if you have no other option.
Flush¶
A Flush is acquired by playing three cards of the same color. Again, this will only bag you one extra AP so you’ll want to use this method if you have no other option.
Same Kind¶
A Same Kind is acquired by having all of the cards be the same number, such as all 9s or 3s, etc. We recommend that you try and get all 8s or 9s on at least one of the fields to easily secure a win and bag two extra AP.
Straight Flush¶
A Straight Flush is acquired by playing three cards of the same color and consecutive numbers. This method will give you three bonus AP so you’ll want to try and pull this off in order to increase your chances of winning.
Overall, the Card Battle minigame is a pretty simple one (especially if you know poker rules) but it has an RNG element to it, so you can still lose even if you have one of the better deck setups.
