Strategy combat is a part of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes that may catch you off guard. This will show up after you are several hours in the game and can be confusing as your movement is extremely limited for the first battle outside of Eltisweiss. The guide below goes over the basics of commanding your legion and winning the Eltisweiss Front War.
Chapell Vs Perrielle War Strategy¶
This is the turning point of the game that really kicks off your adventure, so be sure to save. After you return from the stealth mission at Werne Village, you will soon be thrust into a War battle where you control three units called legions. Each character on the field leads a legion into battle and the more heroes you have recruited, the stronger your legion will become over the course of the game.
This seems stressful at first, but this mission is rather easy to complete. You will only be able to move forward with the unit on the right and left side. The unit in the middle can move to either side. To do this, choose the unit you can to move, and you will see the directions they can currently maneuver to. When a legion encounters an enemy unit, a battle will begin. If your legion wins the skirmish, the enemy unit will retreat from battle and back one square on the map.
You will also notice there is a rage mode and morale mode, but you won’t get to use them in this short battle. Your goal isn’t to get outside the gate, and the commander won’t allow you to try. If your unit can’t halt the progress of the enemy, then they won’t be able to move. In addition, the legion that has more power will always win. Instead, you need to get your characters on both sides of the castle wall so that they can engage with the approaching enemy forces. In the case of this first battle, you will do enough to win the battle, and the enemy will seemingly retreat.
