Mass Effect 2 Legendary Edition

N7: Endangered Research Station

By
Nathan Garvin

You can start this assignment by traveling to the Solveig system in the Caleston Rift cluster, wherein you’ll find the moon Sinmara. Scan for an anomaly and when you find it, land to start this assignment.

The moon Sinmara is the location of the assignment “N7: Endangered Research Station”.

You’ll land on a platform near your goal - there’s no combat in this assignment, so you needn’t worry about assigning squadmates or any of that business. When you’re in control, follow the linear walkway forward to reach a larger platform, stopping only to salvage a Broken Generator (+2000 Palladium) as you go. When you arrive, some shields will rise to block your progress. Bypass a “Station Central Control Terminal”, then head upstairs to reach the large platform, upon which you’ll find several control devices.

(1 of 2) Use the “Control Switch” to send power to various terminals,

Use the “Control Switch” to send power to various terminals, (left), and activate them in the following order: Cooling Unit, Shield Generator and finally Shield Control. (right)

In the middle is a “Control Switch”, which can be toggled to provide power to the other three switches (indicated by yellow lights in the power lines on the floor). Currently, the Control Switch is providing power to the “Shield Control” terminal to the north (there are no actual objective directions, so we’ll just apply them to what is really our own relative outlook), which is ultimately what you want to get working. To the east (right) is the “Shield Generator” terminal, and to the west (left) is the “Cooling Unit” terminal.

To complete the assignment you need to get the station’s shields up and running via the Shield Control terminal, but before that, you need to get the generator back online via the “Shield Generator” terminal. This, however, is overheating, so you must begin with the “Cooling Unit” terminal. Ah, fun.

Activate the “Control Switch” twice until the yellow power indicator is running to the “Cooling Unit” and when it’s active you’ll see large pipes merrily glowing blue on the ground, which we’ll assume is a good sign. Toggle the “Control Switch” two more times and run over to the “Shield Generator” and power that up, then head back to the “Control Switch” and toggle it two more times to send power to the “Shield Control” terminal.

Activate this final terminal and complete a bypass minigame to complete the assignment. Easy-peasy.
