You can start this assignment by traveling to the Talava system in the Caleston Rift cluster, wherein you’ll find the planet Taitus. Scan for an anomaly and when you find it, land to start this assignment.
Land on the planet and you’ll find a Disabled Mech across from your shuttle. Near it is a Datapad which spells out the gameplay loop of this assignment. The mech can clear your way to some loot, but it’s a flawed piece of machinery, leaking fuel at a prodigious rate. You can see this in action if you bypass the mech and start it up - it’ll amble a few steps towards the first obstruction, before ultimately powering down without achieving anything.
Grab some Power Cells near some crates and the mech should manage to gun down some rocks, clearing the way ahead. Follow the mech until it powers down again, and when it does, head right and grab some more Power Cells near some scaffolding. How did people get through those rocks the mech destroyed to set up all this infrastructure? Oh, whatever.
Feed the mech a second helping of Power Cells and it’ll trudge on ahead. Push ahead of it this time and you’ll find a ramp leading down. Take it, turn left, and kill two Varren - the sole bit of combat in this assignment - and grab the Power Cells they guarded. Return to the mech, feed it more delicious Power Cells, then follow it back down the ramp and to the right. When the mech falters again, turn right from its location and grab a final set of Power Cells, which will provide sufficient energy for the fickle machine to reach - and destroy - the final obstruction. Stand back, as the ungrateful mech will self-destruct once this task is complete, after which you’ll be free to press on into the cavern the mech opened up and examine the Resources (+5,000 Platinum) within.
