Birdo is a miniboss that you must face while inside Nimbus Castle. She is a bit different from other bosses in the game and has two forms to deal with. This isn’t a difficult boss, but some players may be a bit confused about what to do with the Eggberts when they appear. The guide below goes over where to find Birdo and how to defeat her in battle.
Where to Find Birdo¶
Birdo is a miniboss located inside of Nimbus Castle, past the area’s first locked door. Unlike other bosses she won’t immediately attack you, instead, you will find them inside an egg that you need to interact with. When you do, Birdo will ask if you want to play with her. Say yes when you are ready to start the battle. You can’t get to the end of Nimbus Castle without getting the key from defeating Birdo.
How to Defeat Birdo¶
Recommended Level | HP | Weakness |
---|---|---|
14 | 777 | None |
It doesn’t really matter who you take into the fight with Birdo, but Mario, Bowser, and Peach is a good choice. You will be using physical attacks during this battle, so it’s also a good idea to use Geno Boost for some extra attack power. Birdo has two stages, the first of which she will be trapped inside an egg named Shelly. You should use physical attacks to break the eggshell. It has 500 HP and won’t attack you back. With each attack, the shell will break more and more until Birdo hatches.
Birdo has no weakness and is immune to status effects. Just continue to use physical attacks here as she only has 777 HP and can be taken down quite quickly. Use Peach to heal when needed and focus on dishing out as much damage as you can at Birdo. Block her eggs and destroy them to deal extra damage as soon as they turn into Eggberts on her side of the field.
Birdo Moves¶
Birdo’s only move is to shoot eggs at the party. These eggs can be blocked, but when they are they turn into Eggberts. If you defeat an Eggbert, it will explode dealing additional damage to Birdo. As they don’t have much HP, this is easy to do and should be taken advantage of.
Birdo Rewards¶
For defeating Birdo you will get the Castle Key 2, 30 coins, and 60 experience. This will allow you to reach the end of Nimbus Castle. The final boss of this area is named Valentina and is a much more difficult fight than Birdo, so be sure to use the enemies along the way to level your party up.
