After rescuing Peach from the bonds of matrimony, you’re free to return to the Mushroom Kingdom! The main object of your quest is over, time for the happily ever after part - surely Peach will never be kidnapped again, right? This page will provide a walkthrough for the events at the Mushroom Kingdom and Tadpole Pond before eventually moving on to the next new location - Star Hill.
Return to Mushroom Kingdom¶
Exit Marrymore and fast travel back to the Mushroom Kingdom, enter the throne room in the castle, and talk to the Chancellor to recap everything that’s happened. Long story short, the purpose of this exposition dump is to encourage you to continue your journey and repair the Star Road to ensure wishes can keep coming true. Leave the castle and Peach will slip out and officially join the party - she’s the best healer you have access to and gets some debuffs, but she lacks much in the way of offense until she hits Lv18. Assemble whatever party you wish, then travel to Tadpole Pond.
Return to Tadpole Pond¶
Jump across the tadpole bridge and talk to the Frog Sage to learn that a star fell in Star Hill. Fitting enough. With that, you’re ready to go to the next area, just fast travel back to Marrymore and from there continue on to Star Hill. If you haven’t returned to Booster Pass yet to explore the secret area you opened up in Booster Tower, now’s a good time to do that, too.
Exploring Star Hill¶
There aren’t any secrets or hidden treasures in this area, but it can still be something of a slog due to the notable uptick in enemy difficulty. Most of this is due to Pulsar enemies, which can one-shot characters with their Migraine counterattack, and even if you partially block you’ll be reduced to 1 HP. Granted, characters are automatically revived to 1 HP after each fight ends and it only costs 2 FP to fully heal a downed character, but it’s still a nuisance. On the plus side, Sackit enemies drop a significant number of coins… if you can dispatch them before they flee.

If you avoid the enemies here, you’ll be through this place with a quickness. In the first screen, you’ll find two large stars with small keyholes in their center. The southeasternmost one leads back to the world map, while the northeasternmost one takes you deeper into Star Hill. Near both of these doors is a rather dull plant with a starburst flower - interact with it and it’ll begin to glow, and in this case, they’ll widen the keyhole door each plant is near, allowing you to pass through. Hit the starburst plant near the northeasternmost star door to open the way to the next area, then pass through.
Enemies start appearing in the next area, and this area and the next two work in more or less the same way - there are several starburst flowers scattered around the map and you need to touch them all to open another star door so you can advance. Repeat until you reach the fourth screen of Star Hill and head to the northern end of the area to find the fourth Star just sitting out in the open, ready to be collected.
Approach the Star to get a scene and after it’s over search the area for enough starburst plants to open the final door, which will take you out to the world map. With Star Hill complete and the fourth Star in your possession, it’s time to continue on to Seaside Town.
