Crafting is a very important part of One Piece Odyssey. The Trick Ball Workshop that Usopp runs is important for challenging enemies, bosses, and other notable fights. Meanwhile, part of your progressions and getting strong comes from Robin’s accessory fusing. Here is a guide on how crafting works for fusing accessories to power up your characters throughout the game.
How to Unlock Accessory Fusing in One Piece Odyssey¶
When you start Chapter 3 and return to Waford form Alabasta, you get a cutscene with Lin. She mentions that there is this strange robot in the camp, but you need two people with two arms to use it with certain strength. Luckily for you, Robin can produce magical arms to operate the machine for you. From then on, you can craft and fuse accessory items together as long as you’re in a camp.
When you’re walking around the world, you can also come into contact with Yoisa, who will removing fusing for you too when you’re out and about too.
How does Accessory Fusing Work in One Piece Odyssey?¶
There’s a few rules you need to know about fusing accessories in the game. The first is that you will be merging one item into another. To do so, you need a purple accessory, with 2-4 stat slots. Depending on your fuse level, these empty stat blocks can hold another item’s stats, making an item stronger. One such example of this the Bon Clay’s Power accessory, with its three possible stat blocks.
When you fuse an item together, one of three thighs will happen
- Complete - Carries the original value of the fused item into the host item.
- Success - 150% of the fused item’s value moves into the host item
- Triumph - 200% of the fused item’s value moves into the host item
The chance for this to happen is not properly known. However, Complete is more common, and Triumph is more common. There are no gacha percentages available to us, so we cannot comment on the chances of each roll.
On a final note, you need to know that if you fuse two purple accessory items together, and the item being fused has more than one stat block, only the base item will carry over. You will lose all over stats on the item.
Improving Fusing in One Piece Odyssey¶
Throughout the game, you will complete the main story chapters and begin to regain lost power and memory. Most of the time, a character’s battle skills will improve, but Robin’s Fuse skill is sometimes enhanced. This means that the game allows you to invest three cubes into those skills, which will unlock the next tier of fusing and trick balls available.
For Robin’s fusing, it means that purple-quality accessory items with 2-4 stat blocks will open up per level. Getting to level 2 will open the second stat block, level 3 the third and level 4 the final stat block.
The first time you can enhance the fusing level is at the end of chapter 4. This will periodically happen throughout the game. It gives you time to develop your items on your characters before the next phase of upgrades and difficulty creep occurs in the main story.
