One Piece Odyssey

More Important Than Berries Side Story

By
Jarrod Garripoli

As with any JRPG, you are going to encounter quests away from the main story, and One Piece Odyssey is no exception. The Side Stories in this game are shown on the map with a blue marker, but once you start them, you will notice there is no tracking at all. This can make things pretty difficult with some Side Stories. This page will focus on the More Important Than Berries Side Story in Alabasta.

Where to Start More Important Than Berries in One Piece Odyssey

(1 of 2) The location of the side story on the map

The location of the side story on the map (left), This man will be the one who gives you the side story (right)

After completing the Alabasta segment in Chapter 2, you will return to Waford, but will eventually end up back in Alabasta for a short story bit. It is at this time, in Chapter 3, you will unlock a bunch of optional content here, including this side story. To find the NPC that gives it, head to Nanohana Harbor and to the tavern in the northern part. Once you go there (not inside), continue east and you will see the side story marker on your map, off to the side. Pompous Tam came from a far away land and got lost in the desert here in Alabasta, losing an important photograph of his.

He mentions that it’s a single photo that has been split in two, with both pieces being in this desert somewhere. He suggests asking the caravan just beyond the cave leading to the desert for more information.

Where to Find the First Photo in One Piece Odyssey

With the knowledge of the photos being in the nearby desert, exit Nanohana via the west to arrive in the Desert Near Nanohana. Continue north to the camp, then head west from it, where you should find a small tunnel that only "Chopper" iconChopper can use. Go through it to arrive in Desolate Valley and keep going until you reach the broken bridge on the northwestern side. Right by the broken bridge, you should see a blue, glowy spot on the ground. This will be the "Picture of 2 Children" iconPicture of 2 Children, one of the items you need for Pompous Tam. As you try to exit the area, you will trigger a cutscene and have to return to Tam in Nanohana.

(1 of 3) Talk to his caravan NPC to get a clue for the first photo

Returning to Tam will yield some information on the photograph, but to get the full story, you will need the other portion of the photo.

Where to Find the Second Photo in One Piece Odyssey

Head back out to the Desert Near Nanohana and speak to the same caravan NPC, who mentioned that maybe you should check the Ravine of No Return and that there’s another caravan there. Head to the Ravine of No Return and into the first proper room (where you see the bird giving you directions), where you should see the caravan mentioned by the previous one. He says that he saw one in a place with scorpions and a bunch of bones, but considering the Ravine is like a maze, there’s no specific directions to it from him.

(1 of 3) There will be another caravan NPC inside the Ravine

Follow the bird mentioned above to the right, then continue beyond that and into the room with a buried stone statue. Here, the bird will point you to the left exit, but ignore that and look by the other exit to see a man laying on the ground. Feel free to speak to him, then head through the tunnel behind him to arrive in the room with scorpions and bones. Clear the enemies from the room, then find the blue shiny object on the ground, which is the "Picture of 1 Adult" iconPicture of 1 Adult. Return to Pompous Tam to hand over the photo, get the full story and complete the side story.
