For our final detour, you’ll need to head to Seaward Cave, accessible via Melemele Meadow on Route 3. If you left off at Kukui’s lab, simply head north back towards your home. Maybe stop off at your Mom’s to let her know how you’re doing. Then continue north into Route 1, where you can enter Route 3 by going north from the Rockruff’s play area.
Once at Melemele Meadow, make your way to the far south-west corner, then crawl through the hole where Nebby escaped to during the main story.

We’ll assume you already explored Seaward Cave after rescuing Nebby, but if not, please refer to the Seaward Cave page in the Melemele Island chapter. Inside the cave, head directly south-west. When you reach the body of water, summon Lapras. Traverse the body water south. On the other side, there’s a golden ball towards the east.
Pick it up to learn it’s TM79 Frost Breath. Next, jump off the ledge to the left, as well as the one below it. After landing, go east a few paces. At the branching path, head south-east, then south-west after the corner. Finally follow the sloping path to the south-east all the way round towards the east. At the end is the exit leading to Kala’e Bay itself.

Once out in the bay, summon Lapras towards the east side, below the swimmer on dry land, then paddle directly east. You’ll arrive on the southern edge of a large semi-submerged island. Immediately next to you should be a shimmering golden ball. Crack it open to to TM05 Roar. ROAR, TALK ABOUT AN AWESOME FIND! Ahem.
Next, head south. Call Stoutland and have your canine pal search the small sandy area surrounded by waves for a hidden Big Pearl. Afterwards, dash all the way north, on Stoutland’s back preferably. At the far end, search inside the small pool of shallow of water surrounded by sand. Buried here is a Star Piece that presumably fell from the sky.
From the shallow pool, ride Stoutland directly east. When you reach the water’s edge, summon Lapras and paddle east towards the small, partially-submerged island. Here, there’s a Hyper Potion with your name on it. Next, head directly south, either from the tiny island with the Hyper Potion or along the large shallow island.
Either way works; you may bump into Water Pokémon if swimming is all. By the way, if you swim east from the southern tip of the large island, there’s a Photo Spot right next to the rocks surrounding the bay. Either way, to continue, swim south-west from the southern tip of the large island. Soon, you’ll discover a beach isolated from civilization.
Search around its northern shore to find a buried Pearl. Finally, follow the sand south-west. In the farthest corner, hiding in the shade created by the towering cliffs, is a rare Prism Scale. Attach this to the Feebas found in Brooklet Hill and it’ll evolve it into the majestic Milotic when traded. That’s the only way Feebas will be useful for the next trial.
Technically, you’re all done here. But if you’re looking to add the rare Bagon to your collection, try rummaging through the tall grass on this hidden beach. Unlike on Route 3 where the chance was 1 in 100, the chances of finding a Bagon here are 1 in 10. After you’ve exhausted your stay, it’s time to return to where you left off.
If you need help exiting Seaward Cave, from the Kala’e Bay entrance follow the sloping path south-west and around to the west. After the corner, keep traveling in a northerly direction. Once you see the ledge leading to the east, head north-west up the slope. At the top, the entrance to the cave is just a few paces north.
