Survival games, especially on PC are an immersive experience, really putting you in the head of someone that needs to live no matter what. Sons Of The Forest is just that, planting you in a situation that you need to do anything and everything in order to get through.
However, if you’re looking to enhance the already pretty immersive Sons Of The Forest, VR would be the perfect way in doing so. But, does it have VR support? The question on many a fan’s lips if they already own a headset.
This guide will reveal all on Sons Of The Forest VR support so you know whether to hook up the headset or not.
Can You Play Sons Of The Forest In VR?¶
If you played the first iteration - The Forest, you will likely know that it did in fact have VR support. However, this was not available at launch and was actually a whole separate release years after the initial release.
It was met with quite a few criticisms due to poor controls, players experiencing heavy motion sickness, and jarring third to first person camera changes. But, on the flip side, many also enjoyed this version of the game, and expanded the playerbase, targeting a whole new set of survivalists.
So, with all this in mind, Sons Of The Forest seemed primed to have VR support at launch but sadly, this is not the case.
Sons Of The Forest, at this current time, does not have any VR functionality, leaving maximum immersion being limited to owning something like a curved monitor. What we don’t know though is if any Sons Of The Forest VR action is in the works, akin to that of the first game, coming in the later years post-launch.
If any new Sons Of The Forest VR details do emerge from the shadows, we’ll update this page with the up to date information.
