Sons of The Forest is a sequel to The Forest and it was finally launched on February 24th 2023. As you may already know if you played the previous game, having certain plants will allow you to make healing items, so having a Standing Planter setup at base is great way to have a steady supply.
Standing Planter Recipe in Sons of The Forest¶
Name | Requirement |
---|---|
Standing Planter | 18 Sticks |
Wall Planter | 16 Sticks |
There are many different ways of restoring health in Sons of The Forest, such as Food and Meds, but Meds are not very common to find so having a good supply of Health Mix on you when exploring will be a necessity when exploring caves, as it provides a decent health regeneration over time. However, the Health Mix will require two types of plants, Aloe Vera and Yarrow, but these are not very easy to come across in large quantities so growing them yourself will make life a lot easier.
Standing Planters are to craft, as all you’ll need is a lot of Sticks which can either be found on the floor or by destroying bushes to cause them to fall. However, a stick isn’t always guaranteed to drop, but it seems to drop more often when destroying the red bushes. Besure to have a decent melee weapon equipped, such as a Spear so you can defend yourself against wild enemies or cannibals. Alternatively, you can send out Kelvin to fetch for some sticks.
How To Craft a Standing Planter¶
Once you’ve acquired the required amount sticks for the Drying Rack, open up the Guide Book by pressing then hold to bring up the crafting section. Here you’ll want to select the Gardening option which is the sixth one down, then you’ll want to select the type of Planter you want and you’ll be presented with a Template that you’ll need to place. After you’ve found a spot and placed it down, press to place the required amount of sticks, then it’ll be ready for use.
How To Use The Standing Planter¶
With the Planter finally set up you’ll need to have some form of Seed in your inventory which can be acquired by holding down as you stumble across plants in the wild, then when you’ve got the desired amount seeds, return to the planter and press to bring up your inventory. Select the seed that you want, then the growing phase will begin. Unfortunately, it’ll take a while, so its best you leave it to do its thing whilst you’re building/exploring etc.
