Getting a New Doll is a hidden request on Chapter 4 Day 2.

How to Start Getting a New Doll¶

Getting a New Doll is a hidden request that can be unlocked after you have given your report to Chief Sergei on Chapter 4 Day 2. Unlike the Blue Pill Investigation Request, this one is entirely optional so it’s a good idea to focus on clearing it (and the other Requests) as soon as possible to avoid being locked out of it.

Getting a New Doll is the only request in Trails from Zero that can be missed as you must have at least 288 DP before you’ll be able to trigger the scene that grants you this request. If you’ve been following this guide or completed everything to this point, you’ll have around 300 DP. Be sure to complete the other two requests first in this chapter, Search for an Important Person has a massive 12 DP available if you answer all questions correctly.

Once you’ve met the DP requirements, head into Imelda’s shop in the Back Alley to begin the request.

Once you have met these conditions, head into Back Alley and go into Imelda’s shop to trigger the scene. She’ll rope the SSS into retrieving her new Rosenberg Doll she’s ordered, a task that will prove to be more trouble than it’s worth.

How to Complete Getting a New Doll¶

Once you have the request, exit Crossbell via the northern gate and take the bus to Bus Stop (Doll Studio) and follow the path all the way up to the east to reach the Rosenberg Studio. Before you check the gate though, place your characters as far apart as possible in the Tactics screen, make sure you have the two Grail Lockets equipped and consider Seal Resistance for the other two party members. You’ll also want to make sure that everyone has access to Earth Arts, with Elie and Tio wanting to have the higher-level Arts if possible. When everything is prepared, save your game and head inside for a difficult battle.

First things first, you’ll want to make sure you scan both an Angel Doll and a Tildawn Doll. Your first target for the battle should be the Angel Dolls, this is because the Tildawn Dolls will reflect any physical damage, even from S-Breaks, making them a real pain.

The Angel Dolls will use Lightning Flash often, it’ll only deal around 400 HP but they will bounce between a few characters, regardless of where they’re standing. This becomes a bigger problem if you have several Angel Dolls using this against you before you can heal. They also have regular attacks that deal around the same damage to a single character, much easier to deal with. They also have an AoE buff, Heaven’s Order that will grant anyone inside it STR and SPD Up.

The best way to deal with these Angel Dolls is let them come toward you and then use Lloyd (Rising Sun) and Randy’s S-Breaks to hit a few of them at the same time while avoiding the Tildawn Dolls. You can then finish them off with regular attacks and Crafts. You can also use Tio’s S-Break, just make sure you’re hitting the Tildawn’s in the process too.

Once the Angel Dolls are down, you can focus on dealing with the two Tildawn Dolls. As mentioned above, they’ll reflect anything physical, so you’ll need to use Arts or Arts based attacks (Tio’s S-Break and regular attack). What makes this even trickier is the fact that they’re resistant against all elements outside of taking regular damage from Earth Arts.

The Tildawn Dolls will just attempt to cast Arts on you, with Spark Dyne being the most common. Although it doesn’t deal much damage, it will inflict Seal on anyone who is not protected against it so be sure to cure it as soon as possible. They’ll also use Speak Lies, this will inflict Confusion and SPD Up in a small AoE, cure this immediately, especially should Randy or Lloyd get hit by it.

Elie and Tio should be slinging higher-level Earth Arts at the two Tildawn Dolls while Lloyd and Randy can cast the lower-level Arts for some additional damage. Whenever Tio has 100+ CP, be sure to unleash Ether Buster against them to deal a hefty chunk of damage to them.

Once the battle is over, Jeorg will hand over the New Doll’s Trunk that Imelda purchased. Make your return to Crossbell and hand it over to complete the request.
