Horizon Zero Dawn

Hunting for the Lodge

By
Jarrod Garripoli
&
Nathan Garvin

You can start this Errand by visiting any of the Hunting Grounds, with the first one you can encounter located northeast of the Main Embrace Gate. Anyway, the first objective of this Errand is to complete any three trials at the Hunting Grounds across the map. If you wish to know more, visit the Hunting Grounds section of the guide for tips on every single one in the game. Once you have done this, you will now need to go and speak with Ligan, who is located in Meridian.

When you finally reach Meridian, which you do as part of the main story, go to the western side of the city to find the lodge. As you enter the place, you will be stopped by Ligan and Aloy will show her three Half-Suns to enter. However, you’re just a fledging and in order to become a Thrush, you need a sponsor, a Hawk. He tells you to go upstairs and speak with Sunhawk Ahsis, who will introduce you to a Hawk, after some choice words between you and Ahsis.

Your sponsor, who seems to hate Ahsis as much as you, is downstairs and her name is Talanah. After speaking with her, she says you need to kill three Sawtooths, two Ravagers and a Stalker, bringing their trophies back to the lodge. There are specific locations on the map given to you, where you will encounter said Machines, but any normal ones in the wild you find will also drop the required trophies. Sawtooths are enemies you have likely fought before and the other two you might have, as well.

The designated machines don’t drop the trophies unless you have this part in your log (left). You also can hunt them anywhere on the game’s map (right).

Ravagers are pretty much a Sawtooth with a shoulder-mounted cannon, so that thing should be taken out before anything else, reducing the battle to something you should know how to handle. Note that the Ravager has a Freeze Canister and Power Cell, instead of a Blaze Canister, but its body is still weak to fire, just like the Sawtooth. The Stalker, on the other hand, is an annoying enemy, solely because it can cloak itself and become very hard to track.

Its stealth generator is on its shoulder is what it uses for its cloaking mechanism, so destroy that and the Stalker will be baring everything it has. Finding a Stalker isn’t easy because of its cloaking, so you either need to run around until you spot the faint outline or it spots you. Laying down some Shock Wires is a good idea ahead of time, since they are weak to that element. Be mindful of its quick shot with the Dart Gun, as well as the possibility of stepping on mines it might have placed. Once you have all of the trophies, bring them to Ahsis in Meridian to finish.
