This is a very straightforward request, which serves as a tutorial. You can undertake it by speaking to Elder Fugen, who’s standing in front of the Steelworks, the largest building in Kamura Village.

The reward for this request (10 Potions) isn’t ground-breaking, but worth grabbing all the same. Especially if you’re a newcomer.
Monster Hunter veterans should be familiar with how to obtain a well-done steak. During a hunt, find a safe spot where you won’t be disturbed. Then use the BBQ Spit from your item pouch while carrying at least one Raw Meat. Your hunter will sit down and begin roasting the Raw Meat.
Wait for the cheerful jingle to stop (or observe the color of the meat), then immediately press A to remove the meat you’re cooking. Time it right and the Raw Meat will become a Well-done Steak. Remove the meat too early and you’ll get a Rare Steak, which isn’t as good. Take too long and you’ll end up with Burnt Meat, which… er… yeah.
The BBQ Spit is already in your possession from the beginning and you always carry it. As for Raw Meat, you’ll start the game with a whole bunch of them. If you stored them in your item box, be sure to take some out. However, if you ran out, you’ll need to farm them from monsters like Kelbi, Popo, Gargwa, Rhenoplos etc.
