How to complete The Secret Ingredient¶
This page is a walkthrough for the Quest, The Secret Ingredient. It will navigate you through the necessary steps to successfully capturing Somnacanth.
The Secret Ingredient Quest becomes available when you reach 5* Village Quests.

Somnacanth Location¶
Once you’ve accepted the quest, be sure to consume some delicious Bunny Dango and equip yourself with a Thunder based weapon, then make sure to bring along some Pitfall Traps and Tranquilizers as you’ll need to capture Somnacanth this time. You’ll be able to find Somnacanth in the following locations.

How to capture Somnacanth¶

Somnacanth is a leviathan type monster which was first introduced in Monster Hunter Rise. This monster has a major weakness to Thunder. Somnacanths main form of defense is its breathing attacks, as getting caught by it can cause you to fall asleep for a short period of time. Return to Kamura Village¶
Once you’ve defeated Somnacanth, return to Kamura Village and speak with Hinoa to bring this quest to a close.
