Vehicle tricks aren’t a new feature in Saints Row game, and like in past games, these tricks are fairly obscure, often requiring some experimentation or dumb luck to discover. In the case of Saints Row (2022), you’ll be informed of the existence of this tricks due to the [Signature Abilities] of various vehicles which require you to perform a certain number of these tricks to unlock. The Ridgelord, for example, requires you to perform three Barrel Rolls to unlock the Jump Signature Ability.
All of the tricks that’ll be covered on this page - the 360 Spin, the Barrel Roll and the Backflip - require you to gain a bit of air time to perform them. Your best friend in this regard will be ramps, and a good spot to find them - and some long stretches of road which you can use to build up speed - is around a cemetery located along the northern edge of East Providencia.
You can perform tricks in just about any vehicle, but generally speaking lighter, faster vehicles will work better. If you want to kill two birds with one stone, find vehicles that require you to perform tricks to unlock Signature Abilities and just use those.
How to Perform a 360 Spin in Saints Row¶
You will need to perform 360 Spins to unlock the Air Boost Signature Ability on the Skorpio, among other vehicles. Approach a ramp and launch off it at high speed, and when you’re in the air hold down the / button and move the right analog stick either left or right .
How to Perform a Barrel Roll in Saints Row¶
The reliable old Ridgelord’s Signature Ability, Jump, can be unlocked by performing Barrel Rolls. Take this lovable hunk of junk and, similar to the 360 Spin, gain speed and launch off a ramp. While in midair, hold the / and move the right analog stick either left or right .
You’ll earn the achievement/trophy The Spins for performing a Barrel Roll.
How to Perform a Backflip in Saints Row¶
This trick is one that really benefits from air time, and hence, speed. You’ll need to perform Backflips in an Ant to unlock its Air Control Signature Ability, making it a fair choice. Find some distance to build up speed (using nitrous doesn’t hurt) and hit a ramp. When you’re airborne, simply hold the right analog stick either up or down . You’ll need to perform Backflips in a variety of different vehicles to complete the Perks Badlands Badass, Desert Daredevil and Downtown Daredevil.
You’ll earn the achievement/trophy A Car Named Simone for performing a quadruple Backflip.
