So having completed your first day at Marshall and things not exactly going to plan you will find yourself outside the Station in the car park. It’s time to head home on your Morning Commute.
You can consider this mission as a tutorial on driving within the game. Along the way you will be shown the buttons for general steering as well as Drift, all of which you can practice over the next few minutes.
How To Complete The Morning Commute Mission In Saints Row¶
Use the foillowing steps to complete Morning Commute, and learn how to drive your car properly as you do.
Objective 1: Get In Your Car¶
Simple enough, cross the car park to your truck which is parked in the far left-hand corner. Get in the vehicle and make your way out of the car park onto the open road, where you are treated to a voice-over swearathon as your guy rues the fact he has just missed out on his pay bonus for going off the rails in the last mission.
Objective 2: Head For Home¶
Nice and simple, you have a long open road to follow for about three kilometers back to your apartment. This section is entirely to get you used to the driving mechanics of Saints Row.
If you are using a controller things are pretty simple. It takes a little more getting used to what coordination is required if you are using a keyboard and mouse however but the car is perfectly drivable.
Along the way, you may decide to stop off and do some sightseeing. We came across a Police vehicle stop which somehow ended up in a gunfight and me reversing accidentally over an officer, but that’s Saints Row for you - the unexpected can happen if you veer off the beaten track.
Along the way, you will pass through several areas of the city before finally closing in on your apartment. Park your truck up next to Neenah’s project taxi cab and hop out.
Now all you have to do is head into the apartment block to trigger the cut-scene. Congratulations, you are now a fully qualified Saints Row driver.
During the following cutscene, you will get to meet your friends and fellow Saints, Eli, Kev, and Neenah. Quite the unusual bunch they are too.
Don’t forget you can skip through any cutscene at any time (or even pause them if something comes up), even if it doesn’t always say you can on screen.
