Information about Photo Hunt Discoveries in Saints Row, including how to find and complete Photo Hunts and the rewards you’ll gain for doing so.
What Are Photo Hunts in Saints Row?¶
Photo Hunts are a type of Discovery in Saints Row, an optional, freeform, open world activity that typically rewards you with cash and XP when you complete it. Photo Hunts, unlike Armored Truck events and Crimes of Opportunity count towards the completion of a region’s Discoveries when completed, and while this won’t increase the passive income generated by any Ventures in that region like completing Threats will, it does count towards various achievments/trophies that task you with conquering various regions.
How to Find and Complete Photo Hunts¶
Photo Hunts are another form of open-world scavenger hunt where you need to locate some object or graffiti and snap a photo of it, effectively making Photo Hunts identical to Fast Travel Discoveries and Collectibles.
Before you go hunting for the subject of a Photo Hunt, it’s best to actually know what you’re looking for. When you find a Photo Hunt map marker (just getting close to the area where one is located should suffice) check the map and highlight the Photo Hunt icon to get a brief description, which is usually fairly vague. For example, a Photo Hunt event in Old Town West tasks you with photographing a “mad cow”.
Once you’re at the location, use the icon on your minimap to help you find your target, which is usually pretty close to the icon (there’s no search area to force you to hunt for your objective). If all else fails, pull out your phone and have a look around with your camera, as the Photo Hunt target will be surrounded by red lines if they’re within range, unobscured and the angle’s not too far off. You might have to make further adjustments, but at least you can confirm you’ve found what you’re looking for. Once you’ve located the Photo Hunt target, you’ll need to snap a photo of it with your phone, and just like with Fast Travel Photos and Collectibles, you may need to fuss with your positioning to ensure you get a valid picture. When the lines surrounding the Photo Hunt target turns green, you’re good to go.
You’ll gain a paltry amount of XP for finishing a Photo Hunt.
