Kiava Gamma is one of five colonies you can unlock in Rogue Trader, although you’ll need to progress the story until late Chapter 2 before you can access it. Like all colonies, you’ll get various rewards for ranking it up, but this means you’ll have to make some choices due to some projects restricting you from others. As you level the colony, you’ll acquire Feats, equipment, and consumables that replenish over time, so it’s well worth the investment. Read on to find out what projects you can unlock, and what equipment you can get at each rank.
How to Unlock the Kiava Gamma Colony in Rogue Trader¶
Unfortunately, you’ll need to reach the latter part of Chapter 2 before you can unlock the Kiava Gamma Colony as it is tied to the main story, and it’ll be one of the last things you’ll do in that chapter. You can ignore the side activities during this chapter, which allows you to get to the colony sooner. Still, on the harder difficulties, it’s not recommended as there are some tough battles ahead.
You can find Kiava Gamma in the Cranach system, which is situated in the far west of the Koronus Expanse. This can be accessed by following the warp routes from the Orsellio Prophecy system onto Adermatt II, Tenebris Aquae, and finally, Cranach. Kiava Gamma will be the planet in the southwest of the system, where you’ll need to complete the story segment there to unlock the colony.
Kiava Gamma Colony Projects, Requirements, and Rewards¶
Here you will find a list of all the projects in the Kiava Gamma Colony. Some of these will require you to complete specific projects to access the next one, while others will lock you out of some, so choose carefully what you need for your group. Although rare, some projects can be unlocked by completing contracts, or even being a specific conviction.

That’s all the projects for Kiava Gamma. There are a lot of standout options to get here with the Ethereal Visor increasing your Psy Rating a whole level while also increasing your Psy damage which is a great piece of equipment for Psykers. The Exalted Instruments of War feature will increase your minimum damage to all ranged weapons by 20%, and The Hand of Xenocide is a fantastic melee weapon for Pasqual, especially if you level up Lore (Xenos). Outside of that, you’ll get some reputation with the various merchants, 10 Mobile Extractiums, and ship-related feats and equipment.
