A Friend in Need is Davrin’s fourth companion quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and can be accessed after the Fire and Ice Main Quests. Read on to find out where you need to go and what you get for completing the quest.

Starting the A Friend in Need Quest¶

Once you’ve completed the Fire and Ice Main Quest, speak with Davrin to trigger the quest “Cries From The Past” (which is just a short scene) and then return to him at the Guesthouse immediately afterwards to begin A Friend in Need! Head over to the Arlathan Forest and speak with Davrin who can be found in the Hidden Grove Area.

Gather Stone Root, Vanerberries and Marpel Tree Branch¶

The quest will begin with a chat with a gentleman named Eldrin and he needs help with checking up on the health of the local Halla, so head west and cross the fallen log to reach the Tainted Woods and the Marpel Tree Branch can be found directly ahead of you. Head across to the other side of the lake to find (right of the staircase) to find the Vanerberries sitting next to some small trees. Finally, make your way up the slope and climb up the nearby wooden platform to find the Stone Root.

With all the important items in your possession, follow Davrin and work your way around the Cliffside Pass, then place the items on the empty platform and climb back up the cliff. Use the tee branch to lure in a Halla and trigger a short scene.

A Friend in Need Quest Rewards¶

Now that Halla is getting some much needed food, return to Eldrin and inform him of the status of their health to bring the quest to a close and you’ll be rewarded with 500 XP, 150 Gold and Davrin Bond Increase.
