Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Statuary, Fine Art and Antaam - Part 2

By
Nathan Garvin

After uncovering why the Antaam are collaborating with the Venatori, your leads will go dark, with apparently nothing developing from your discovery. This period of stasis will persist until time passes (read: you complete certain main and side quests) at which point the Venatori will live up to their end of the deal, providing magically enhanced gaatlok in exchange for the pilfered art from Treviso. This page will cover the second part of the side quest “Statuary, Fine Art and Antaam” in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Page Breakdown

Starting Statuary, Fine Art and Antaam - Part 2

Complete the first part of the quest earlier in the game, then advance the main questline until you complete ["The Siege of Weisshaupt" iconThe Siege of Weisshaupt], after which you’ll unlock numerous companion quests, including ["Bloodbath" iconBloodbath], which continues Lucanis’s vendetta. Once that’s complete two more side quests will pop up in Treviso - talk to Teia and Viago and they’ll inform you that the Venatori have delivered the magically-enhanced gaatlok and it’s currently in Treviso. You need to destroy it before it can be put to its destructive purpose to the detriment of the city.

Talk to Teia and Viago after “Bloodbath” to start this quest back up.

Destroy the Gaatlok

This quest is fairly simple - there are three gaatlok locations throughout Treviso and you need to head there, in order, defeat the combined Antaam and Venatori, then detonate the gaatlok. Most of the caches of gaatlok are stored in locations where enemies are usually found,

Gaatlok Cache 1

The first gaatlok cache is in a typical Antaam stronghold - east of The Cantori Diamond and west of the Heart and Central beacon. There are no stand-out foes here, just your typical ranged and melee Antaam and Venatori. Kill them and head to an elevated platform along the western edge of the outpost, near the canal.

(1 of 2) Defeat the unexceptional mixed Venatori and Antaam in the Heart and Central outpost,

Gaatlok Cache 2

The second cache is oddly close to home. From the Crow’s Road Rooftops outside of The Cantori Diamond, head south past the ziplines and through a door you opened during the quest Bloodbath, technically an elevated part of the Grande Market region. Here you’ll find quite an annoying mob of enemies, some of which are on a rooftop to the east that can only be reached by jumping across some platforms. These foes - Veteran Cult Mages - are happy enough to pelt you from afar with spells while you deal with the enemies immediately below you, including an Elite Venatori War-Mage. Either try to rush over to the roof to the east to dispatch those pesky mages or try to hide from them while you thin the herd. However you manage it, drop down to the lower ground south of the door you entered through and turn northwest to find a cache of gaatlok in the corner.

(1 of 2) The second cache is the most well-defended, including numerous mages spread far apart.

Gaatlok Cache 3

The last gaatlok cache can be found in the southeastern corner of the Drowned District, and oddly enough this might be the most poorly guarded cache. Aside from an Elite Venatori Centurion you’ll find yourself fighting the standard Antaam - Blooded Taaralok and Blooded Valotaar. Kill them, then find the gaatlok on a dock to the southeast.

(1 of 2) Pummel the Antaam and Venatori in the Drowned District,

Once the third cache is destroyed this quest will end and you’ll get 1000 EXP, +250 Antivan Crows Strength and a piece of gear (our mage Rook obtained a "Crow's Bill" iconCrow’s Bill helmet).
