Starting Shadow of the Ancient Arlathan¶

Once you’ve completed the main story quest The End of the Beginning, you’ll find yourself in the Lighthouse which will become your home for the rest of the game. Head out into the courtyard and a cutscene will occur with either Harding or Neve depending on who you choose to bring along in the previous mission.

Explore the Lighthouse¶

You’ll now want to bring everyone together in the Library, but you can choose to speak with both Neve who can be found in the Study and Harding who can be found in the Conservatory for some optional dialogue. This will be a perfect opportunity to start increasing your bond with them by choosing the flirt options, but the option will change depending on who you brought to the statue.

There will two options for Neve “Let’s hope things go smoother” (if you took her to the statue) or “Quite the start” (if you didn’t take her), but there will only be one for Harding and that is “Are you okay?” (if you didn’t take her). You’ll now want to head over to the Library for a cutscene, but we recommend that you check out our All Lighthouse Chests and Puzzles and collect as much loot as you can!

The Shadow of the Ancient Arlathan Rewards¶

Its now time to investigate Solas’s ritual site, so head down the stairs to reach the Eluvian Room. Interact with the gate to be transported to the Arlathan Forest and the quest will come to a close and you’ll be rewarded with 900 XP, +200 Veil Jumpers Strength and Companion Bond Increase.
