Walkthrough for the Plumber’s Secret area in Fallout 4.
Plumber’s Secret is an unmarked area southwest from Wattz Consumer Electronics. From the front of Wattz Consumer Electronics (the southeastern face of the building) follow a road to the south and when it forks, turn west. Follow this road until you find a yellow house on the right, across from which is a large, drab building with the words “HARDWARE” on the side. Welcome to Plumber’s Secret.
Exploring Plumber’s Secret¶
At a glance, Plumber’s Secret is similar to Wattz Consumer Electronics - it’s full of junk you can collect, should you need the materials, and aside from Radroaches (one leveled, one not), there’s not much in the way of hostiles prowling around. There are, however, some key differences. First, there are four Bottlecap Mines scattered about the store, so you’ll need to be mindful where you tread. Second, and perhaps more obviously, there aren’t a half dozen dormant robots sitting around.
The name for this location is also well-chosen, as there is a secret, and one of the most iconic plumber’s tools will lead you to it. No, not a wrench… plungers! Head south into a larger warehouse area, go upstairs, then look up at the ceiling to find a trail of plungers leading to the middle of the roof. Near the rafters you should spot some feeble wooden beams where the plungers end, and these boards are hiding this area’s “secret” - a Syringer Rifle and a Caps Stash. The former is a fairly uncommon weapon, so shoot the boards until they collapse, then claim your prize.
Other than that, there’s a Safe [Advanced] behind the front counter, which contains random loot, and a Vault-Tec Lunchbox under the counter nearby. All in all, Plumber’s Secret is a good spot to pick up some random junk (and a good number of plungers, around two dozen in total) with little risk… you know, save for the mines.
