The northernmost area in Lexington, Mystic Pines is a retirement home along the northeastern edge of Lexington - you can reach it easily enough by just following the road south from the Rotten Landfill area.
Exploring Mystic Pines¶
Mystic Pines was a prewar retirement home, and as such it’s unsurprisingly mundane in terms of layout and loot. You’ll find numerous lamps which contain copper, for what that’s worth, as well as a pile of Nuka-Cola and Nuka-Cherry on the floor of the lobby. In the back of the building you’ll find two locked doors [Advanced], one of which - a cage door beyond which you’ll find two First Aid boxes, while the other leads to a basement where you’ll find a reactor, from which you can pry a Fusion Core.
The most valuable loot in this area, however, is in the northeastern corner of the lobby, where you can find an issue of Tales of a Junktown Jerky Vendor on some furniture, near a lantern.
There are no enemies in or around the Mystic Pines area. Some Raiders lurk in some ruined buildings to the south, southeast, but they’re far enough away that they likely won’t detect you no matter how much noise you make.
If you head downhill to the east you’ll find some sewage pipes along the river (as well as some wheelchair bound skeletons preserved in their final moments). If you jump into the water and enter the middle pipe you’ll find a door leading to a “Sewer” area, which is part of [a later quest] which we’ll get to later (or not, if you prefer to follow the links).
