Strategies for all Difficulties¶
When in the battle menu, position a stronger unit on spaces that will be able to move up through the right pathway quickly; this is just to prepare for when Ricken and Maribelle show up, so they will have someone that can quickly take out the enemies nearby.
Since Ricken and Maribelle will already be under your control, it is advisable to move them south to join your main group. Two healers will provide good help considering the map seems to encourage splitting into two groups rather than moving as one larger one.
If you choose to move as a single large group, just keep your healers and other frail units covered, keeping enemy movement in mind. Be wary of the flying units, as they can traverse the cliff spaces and attack you; this includes the boss of the level.
If moving in two groups, keep a healer in each group. The enemies will be naturally moving right and downward to attack you, so the group going left will have to deal with harder hits. Be wary of reinforcements in the forts, the harder the mode the more and stronger the units that appear.
Chrom’s Falchion is effective against dragons, so keep this in mind when battling the Wyvern Riders. Wind magic is also effective against them, which will protect Ricken at least against them. Bows are effective too.
What usually happens is the bulk of the enemy forces are fought in the area southwest of where Ricken and Maribelle first appear. If this is the case, just keep your healers paired up if it gets overwhelming in order to keep them safe. After the bulk of the attack is over, you can proceed north.
