Hunting Grounds are challenges that will test your mettle with various weapons in the game. This page will detail the Shredder Catch Trial at the Hunting Ground in Sheerside Mountains.
Where to Find the Hunting Grounds in Sheerside Mountains¶
There doesn’t seem to be a story prerequisite for this Hunting Grounds, as long as you can freely explore the western portion of the map. As for the exact location, once you find Stone Crest to the northeast of The Bulwark (a location you visit in The Broken Sky), then head straight south from there to find this Hunting Grounds.

Grounds Keeper’s Tips¶
- After hitting a machine, catch the Shredder upon return. Do this three times and the Shredder will be fully charged.
- A fully charged Shredder explodes on its next impact.
- Hit a machine with a fully charged Shredder to cause an explosion, which counts towards your goal.
How to Complete the Shredder Catch Trial¶
The objective you need to fulfill here might be a little confusing, but it basically amounts to hitting a machine with three subsequent Shredder discs and catch them on their return. If you do that, then the next Shredder disc will be fully charged and upon hitting a machine with that, it will explode and cause big damage. The idea behind this Trial is to do this twice and hitting the machines with those fully charged discs. There are two problems, though, with one of them being able to actually catch the discs on their way back, and the other, more obvious thing, is that enemies are attacking you while this is happening.
One tip you can do is to stay away from the enemies while you’re firing discs at them, since that gives you a huge buffer in lining Aloy up on the return. The Bellowbacks are ideal to do this on, since the Rollerback does move much more quickly and can close the distance easily with its rolling attack. With the Bellowbacks, the only thing you will need to be careful about is the charge maneuver, as that’s the only way for them to close the distance. Of the three trials at this Hunting Grounds, this one is definitely the most difficult, since you cannot afford to really mess up, or else you’ll have to start over.
