Information about the Delta Sharpshot Bow in Horizon Forbidden West, including how to obtain it, how to upgrade it, and what the strengths and weaknesses of the Delta Sharpshot Bow are.
Delta Sharpshot Bow Description¶
“Used by Quen soldiers, this fast-firing, long-range bow inflicts extra damage against unaware targets. It can be upgraded to deal more damage against Burning enemies.”
How to Get the Delta Sharpshot Bow¶
Location | Cost |
---|---|
Thornmarsh Hunter | 1249x Metal Shards + 1x Clamberjaw Circulator + 1x Large Machine Core |
You can buy this bow from various merchants in the western half of the Forbidden West. To access these areas you must complete the quest The Eye of the Earth, which is about a third of the way through the main questline.
Once this hurdle has been overcome, you still have to make the trek west to find a merchant who keeps this weapon in stock, and in this case it’s a long trek indeed. The Delta Sharpshot Bow is sold in the town of Thornmarsh, which can be located along the western coast. It’s one long trek for a bow which is, to be fair, a significant statistical upgrade over any of its Rare counterparts.
In addition to a hefty number of Metal Shards, you’ll need to trade a [Clamberjaw] Circulator, a common drop from Clamberjaws. You can find these ape-machines at a site west of the Tallneck: The Stand of the Sentinels.
How to Use the Delta Sharpshot Bow¶
One of the best Sharpshot Bows in the game, the Delta Sharpshot Bow is a non-nonsense weapon that specializes in dealing hefty amounts of Impact damage. It also inflicts a great deal of Tear damage, but for high-end Sharpshot Bows, it’s safe to say that any such weapon that doesn’t have access to Tear Precision Arrows isn’t specialized in removing components. The focus on Impact damage is clarified by this weapon’s access to Strikethrough Precision Arrows and Advanced Precision Arrows, both of which are fairly expensive. Fortunately this weapon retains accesss to standard Precision Arrows, keeping it cost-effective for hunting Midweight machines.
As far as perks go, the Delta Sharpshot Bow has bonuses to Stealth Damage, Overdraw Damage and Burning Enemy Damage, even though it has no means of inflicting that sort of damage, itself. Setting an enemy on fire also runs rather contrary to its stealth bonuses… unless you can inflict the Burning debuff with a single arrow (or Triple Notch). It’s an… odd assortment of perks that don’t always gel well, but you’ll appreciate the Stealth Damage and Overdraw Damage bonuses when it comes to pure sniping, at which this bow excels.
Like most Very Rare weapons, the Delta Sharpshot Bow can unlock up to three Coil Slots when fully upgraded.

---|---|---|
Precision Arrows | Deals Impact and Tear damage | |
Strikethrough Precision Arrows | Deals Impact damage | |
Advanced Precision Arrows | Deals Impact and Tear damage |
-
Precision Arrows: The standard ammunition for Sharpshot Bows. Deals heavy Impact damage and heavy Tear damage. Great for sniping from afar, especially as a stealthy first strike.
-
Strikethrough Precision Arrows: Specialized arrows that penetrate enemies, allowing them to strike multiple targets. Deals heavy Impact damage at the expense of any Tear damage, and is highly situational. Requires Piercing Spikes to craft, making them somewhat expensive.
-
Advanced Precision Arrows: More powerful Precision Arrows, these deal massive Impact and Tear damage. Expensive to craft due to requiring Volatile Sludge, these arrows should be saved for the most opportune shots made on the most powerful of enemies.
