Aloy using the Marshal Hunter Bow
Marshal Hunting Bow Description¶
A mid-range bow favored by Tenakth Marshals. It uses Targeting Hunter Arrows to direct the attacks of overridden machines and can inflict extra damage against Burning enemies.
Where to get the Marshal Hunter Bow¶
The Marshal Hunter Bow can be purchased from Dukkah, at The Maw of the Arena. In order to gain access to this NPC, you will need to have finished The Kulrut story mission. Once you have done this, you can find a pair of NPCs at The Maw of the Arena that give you an errand to reopen the Arena itself. You only need to speak with the NPCs, named Kalla and Dukkah, to gain access to Dukkah’s wares, so you don’t need to actually complete the errand to reopen the Arena. She will be marked on the map with a medal icon and is close to where you first encountered her. Speak to her, then select the option to Trade Medals to see the list of items she has, one of which will be the Marshal Hunter Bow.
You need Hunting Medals to purchase the Marshal Hunting Bow
How to Use the Marshal Hunter Bow¶
The Marshal Hunter Bow will likely be a significant upgrade for your Hunter Bow slot, should you happen to get it as soon as possible (and have done the two Hunting Grounds at that point). It does good Tear Damage, meaning you will be able to detach machine parts more easily and quickly. The Targeting Hunter Arrows are a bit situational, as they make any machines you have overridden go after the target you hit. So, you would need that specific Override in order to utilize them better.
The Berserk Hunter Arrows are a nice addition, and work similarly to the Corruption Arrows from the first game. Basically, using these on enemies will build up the Berserk status, which causes the enemy afflicted with it to target anything in range, whether they are friend or foe. Note that a Berserked enemy will still come after Aloy, so it’s best when facing a large number of foes. The buildup isn’t quick on the more challenging machines, like a Thunderjaw, for example, so it will take a good number of arrows to inflict the Berserk status on those.
