Tips for Defeating the Grazer¶
The Grazer is kind of like a cousin to the Fanghorn, as they are kind of similar and resemble one another. Don’t expect much out of combat with the Grazer, as it tends to be pretty passive, but it can come at you when you least expect it. Unlike the Fanghorn, though, the Grazer doesn’t have many attacks in its skillset, so there’s not much to worry about there. The biggest problem with the Grazer, though, is that it will usually be accompanied by other, more dangerous Machines. For example, the ones in the northern section of Plainsong will usually have Clawstriders with them, which can be annoying to fight.
Enough about the other Machines, though, so let’s get down to the Grazer itself. One thing it does like to do is get up close and personal with Aloy, with it just going straight up in her face. It can try to do some melee attacks at this range, like using its front legs to try and kick you, or a strike with its head. When at range, the Grazer will wind up a little bit, then charge at you with its horns spinning. If you destroyed both horns, then this attack will be removed from its arsenal. The Grazer also has four Blaze Canisters on its back, making easy targets for removing them, or utilizing Fire Arrows to cause an explosion.
Loot (Body)¶
All of the loot in the table below can drop upon killing the Machine and looting its body.
Loot | Chance to Drop |
---|---|
Blaze | 100% |
Metal Shards | 100% |
Grazer Circulator | 31% |
Machine Muscle | 31% |
Grazer Primary Nerve | 20% |
Small Machine Core | 17% |
Braided Wire | 11% |
Metal Bone | 10% |
Sturdy Hardplate | 5% |
Loot (Rotor Horns)¶
The Rotor Horns are located on the head of the Grazer and seem to only be a part of a single attack from the machine. There’s only two of them and you should be able to easily shoot them off without much trouble, due to the Grazer tending to stick back and watch from afar. This part is destroyed upon killing the Machine.
Loot | Chance to Drop |
---|---|
Grazer Rotor Horn | 100% |
Loot (Blaze Canister)¶
The Blaze Canisters are located on the back of the Grazer, and there are four of them there. They are pretty easy to strike, so Grazers make an idea machine to farm for Blaze, should you need it. If you have Fire Arrows, you can simply hit one of the Blaze Canisters to ignite it and cause an explosion. This part is destroyed upon killing the Machine.
