Like a Dragon: Ishin

How to Redeem DLC in Like a Dragon Ishin

By
Jarrod Garripoli

Like a Dragon: Ishin will have some DLC available to purchase, with some of them available to people who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game. For those that have played other games, then you likely realize how to redeem the Downloadable Content for this game. That will come in the form of Bob Utsunomiya, who will handle all of the DLC for Ishin.

Where to Find Bob Utsunomiya in Like a Dragon: Ishin

Before you can even think about redeeming DLC in this game, you will need to progress the main story until you reach Chapter 2. Once you’ve done that, you will have access to the Teradaya inn in Fushimi. Go there and on the bottom floor, straight across from the entrance, you can see the narrow kitchen. Head into the kitchen and in the corner will be Bakumatsu Bob, the NPC you’re looking for, so speak with him if you wish to redeem any DLC.

Bob will be in the corner of the kitchen inside the Teradaya inn

At this moment, the DLC available to you is part of the Digital Deluxe version, which may or may not be sold separately. There are also some other pieces of DLC, although it’s not known if they are free or not. It’s also unclear just how much DLC will be released for this game, as the previous games in the series haven’t had a whole lot of it.

Digital Deluxe Edition Content for Like a Dragon: Ishin

The Digital Deluxe Edition is available on each of the platforms’ stores, and offers some extra downloadable content, in addition to the base game. The following list is what you get with the Digital Deluxe edition.

  • Shinsengumi Captain’s/Enjoyment Set: Four skins for Ryoma, as well as twelve Haoris for him to wear. It’s unclear if the Ishin difficulty level is going to be available separately, or just as part of this.
  • Ryoma Growth Support Kit: Contains items that will grant you experience points and help Ryoma back to his feet, should he fall in battle.
  • Sword Upgrade Materials Kit: Materials that can be used to enhance/craft swords.
  • Gun Upgrade Materials Kit: Materials that can be used to enhance/craft guns.
  • Third Division Armament Expansion Kit: A pack of different Trooper Cards, which are Legendary and Epic rarities.
  • The Dragon of Dojima Skin: A skin for Ryoma that gives him the modern day appearance of Kazuma Kiryu.

Other DLC Content for Like a Dragon: Ishin

  • Japanese Swords and Cannon Set: You receive two katanas, the Kijin-maru Kunishige and Bloody Sheen, as well as a cannon, the Black Ship Cannon.
  • Elite Generals Trooper Card Bundle: This should be free DLC available at launch. It contains six Trooper Cards (Legendary), that are modeled after real life people/personalities. You have Rahul Kohli, Kenny Omega, Nyatasha Nyanners, Cohh Carnage, Alex Moukala, and VampyBitMe.
  • Snowcap Katana: This is a weapon and it’s unclear if this is a preorder bonus or free DLC.
