Moving can be difficult, not just for the stress and hassle of getting settled in a new neighborhood, but for the things you have to leave behind. Two children in Kyo, Shinta and Miho, are suffering just such a calamity, and in a fit of misplaced frustration, their final goodbye ends on a sour note. Intervene and set things right in Substory 4 - I’ll Miss You, Miho in Like a Dragon: Ishin!.
How to Start the Substory I’ll Miss You, Miho in Like a Dragon: Ishin!¶
Along the northeastern end of Rakunai you’ll find the Nichibuza dance school. Wander around northwest of Nichibuza, in the surrounding Kawaramachi district, and a boy should run into you, which will draw Ryoma’s attention to some drama between the boy, Shinta, and a girl named Miho. This is enough to begin Substory 4 - I’ll Miss You, Miho, but you’ll have to actually take the initiative and talk to the two kids to progress the Substory further.
How to Talk Sense into Shinta¶
Approach the kids and you’ll overhear an argument, and after the chatter talk to the now-abandoned and distraught Miho. She’ll shortly ask you to deliver a brief message to Shinta if you come across him. Naturally soft-hearted Ryoma agrees.
Once Miho is gone, Ryoma will reveal that Shinta ran off to a shrine in the northwestern end of the Rakunai district, at the end of Karasuma Street. Just head west until you reach the Ginryu Dojo, then follow the road north, west and north again to reach the shrine. As you enter the grounds, you’ll get a short scene with Shinta, after which talk to the boy and relay the message from Miho. After some chatter, you’ll have to interpret Miho’s message for Shinta:
- “Thank you for your friendship.”
After which you’ll need to walk the boy through why Miho might have kept her impending departure a secret:
- “You’re important to her.”
How to Catch the Palanquin¶
After revealing the obvious to Shinta, he’ll run off to make things right. Return to where you first met the two kids (northwest of Nichibuza, in Kawaramachi) and after a scene you’ll have to intercept the palanquin carrying Miho’s household goods away to buy time for an inexplicably tardy Shinta. This is a pretty simple chase sequence, just pursue the palanquin west, then south down Karasuma Street to reach Shijo Street. These streets are crowded, and running into pedestrians will slow you down, but it’s otherwise not a difficult chase. Catch the palanquin and you’ll get a few more scenes - Miho’s departure can’t be stopped, but at least Shinta can end things on a better note. You’ll get some Rainbow Fabric and after the Substory ends you’ll earn 450 Virtue as well.
