Request 108: Bidoof's Path of Solitude

By
Vincent Lau

This is a guide for Request 108: “"Bidoof" IconBidoof’s Path of Solitude” in the “Daybreak” DLC for Pokémon Legends: "Arceus" IconArceus (PLA).

How to Unlock Request 108

(1 of 2) Gared has a bunch of “interesting” requests to give you.

Gared has a bunch of “interesting” requests to give you. (left), For this request, you must prepare a beastly Bidoof that would make lesser men cower in fear. (right)

After completing Request 102, you can receive 10 requests related to the Path of Solitude–including this request–by speaking to Gared at the Jubilife Village Training Grounds.

1. Participate in the Path of Solitude with Bidoof

To fulfil this request, you must enter Bidoof in the Path of Solitude.

Speak to Ingo at the Training Grounds with Bidoof as your only party member and choose the “Path of Solitude” option. You can change your party by choosing the “Select Pokémon” option when conversing with Ingo.

Your Bidoof will face off against an "Eevee" IconEevee. Although Eevee’s not the scariest opponent ever, keep in mind you can only use Bidoof, who’s also not the strongest companion around…

Eevee has two moves at its disposal: Quick Attack and Baby-Doll Eyes. At first glance, this seems like an easy fight, but Quick Attack will allow Eevee to attack multiple times, while Baby-Doll Eyes will drastically weaken your Bidoof’s damage output.

Here’s our prized Bidoof. In hindsight, an Attack-boosting Nature would’ve helped. (left), We tried a variety of moves, but Double Edge–despite being dangerous–was the most efficient. (right)

There’s no easy way to win this fight, other than power-leveling your Bidoof. For a decent chance of success, your Bidoof should be around Level 50. Sadly, you can’t catch a high Level Bidoof, so you’ll need to train one up. If you have any spare Exp. Candies lying around, you could use those, but there are other Path of Solitudes that are tougher than this one.

Also, it helps if your Bidoof has a decent nature. We recommend Adamant for the Attack boost. Next, we suggest using Grit items to boost your Bidoof’s Effort Levels. If you’re lacking Grit items, try catching lots of Pokémon in Massive Mass Outbreaks and mass releasing all the spares. Focus on boosting Bidoof’s HP, Attack, Defense and Speed to Level 9 at least.

(1 of 2) It’s a bit reckless, but Double Edge is the quickest way to victory.

For moves, we’d stick with Double Edge. Keep in mind that Double Edge will hurt Bidoof, but if all goes well, you should KO Eevee before succumbing to recoil damage. The game plan is simple: use Double Edge twice and hope that Eevee is KO’d. After using Double Edge once, Eevee will generally use Baby-Doll Eyes to lower your Attack, but if your Attack stat is high enough, you should make it, just.

Reward for Request 108

(1 of 2) That’s a lot of effort for such a small payout.

That’s a lot of effort for such a small payout. (left), Perhaps you could consider this special mark the real prize? (right)

For proving that even Bidoof can be a winner, you’ll receive:

  • Seed of Mastery x1
  • Exp. Candy S x10

Also, Ingo will give you some rewards himself, such as Exp. Candies or Grit items. He’ll also add a “Path of Solitude” stamp in Bidoof’s Pokédex page.
