This page includes strategies for fighting Frenzied Noble Lilligant in Pokémon Legends Arceus (PLA).
During the main story, you must calm the fury of Hisuian Lilligant, the Noble Pokémon that protects the Crimson Mirelands.
Hisuian Lilligant’s Info¶
Hisuian Lilligant is a new form of Lilligant. It evolves from a regular Petilil after using a Sun Stone.

Hisuian Lilligant’s Weaknesses & Strengths¶
The Hisuian Lilligant is weak to Fire, Ice, Poison, Psychic and Fairy (2x damage) and Flying (4x damage). It resists Water, Electric, Grass, Ground, Rock and Dark.
Hisuian Lilligant’s Attacks¶
Versus You¶
When battling Noble Lilligant head on, these are the attacks to watch out for.
Lilligant jumps up twice, while two pairs of yellow notes appear above her. After a while, she’ll jump towards you and ground pound the floor, creating shockwaves nearby. Then she’ll quickly perform another jump and ground pound. Keep your distance and roll out of the way.
Eventually, Lilligant will dance wildly, with anger clouds and rainbow notes appearing above her. She’ll perform three jumps and ground pounds in succession, followed by a fourth smaller ground pound–the last one can easily catch you off-guard. After this, she’ll be stunned.
After a while, Lilligant will dance on the spot, with three pairs of green notes flying above her. She’ll perform one jump and ground pound, then unleash a green energy wave that spreads out in a circle around her, followed by a second green wave. You must dodge through the waves, utilizing i-frames.
To mix things up, Lilligant may dance while three pairs of orange notes appear beside her. This indicates she’ll perform a combination of her previous moves: a jump and ground pound, followed by a green wave like above, before finishing with another jump and ground pound.
Versus Pokémon¶
When sending a Pokémon to fight Lilligant, the Noble will use these moves:
- Energy Ball: A standard, hard-hitting Grass-type move.
- Stun Spore: May inflict paralyze, lowering Speed and occasionally preventing the afflicted Pokémon from acting.
- Rock Smash: A weak Fighting-type move, but may lower your defensive stats.
- Poison Powder: May inflict poison, dealing a small amount of damage per turn.
Battling Hisuian Lilligant¶
Recommended Pokémon¶
Flying-type Pokémon are exceptionally strong here, since their moves deal quadruple damage and they resist both Energy Ball and Rock Smash (unless they’re Normal/Flying etc.). Obviously, you can catch Starly near the beginning of the game and train/evolve one.
Fire and Poison-types are also great, since they resist Energy Ball–and the latter is immune to Poison. If you chose Cyndaquil, you shouldn’t struggle much. There’s also Ponyta from Obsidian Fieldlands; you could even show off your shiny one.
Strategy¶
The method of dealing with Noble Lilligant is similar to Kleavor. You need to throw Marsh Balms at the Lady until her frenzy gauge is gone. All the while, you should do your best to evade Lilligant’s attacks.
Dodging Lilligant isn’t too bad because one, the arena is wide and completely open, and two, Lilligant will clearly signal all her attacks with musical notes before using them.
However, there is one surprising trick you’ll need to rely on: i-frames. When performing a dodge with the Y button, during the dodge, you’ll be completely invincible to attacks. This is important as one of Lilligant’s attacks cannot be evaded simply by moving.
When Lilligant signals with green or orange music notes, she’ll unleash one or two energy waves that you must dodge through. Otherwise, simply move around/dodge to avoid her ground pounds.
After performing a couple of normal dance routines, Lilligant will perform an angry dance. You’ll know it when you see it–anger clouds will appear near Lilligant’s head. At the very end of this dance (the fourth ground pound), Lilligant will become stunned. This is when you can throw a Pokémon to fight her.
Your Pokémon ideally should be Flying, Fire or Poison-types. Flying-types will completely cut through her, while resisting her attacks. Be mindful that Lilligant can inflict paralyze and poison.
Upon bringing Lilligant’s HP to zero, she’ll drop her guard for a while–during this window, your balms will be more effective. Once a short amount of time passes, Lilligant will recover and she’ll continue dancing again. From here, rinse and repeat.
