This is a rather simple mission and serves more as a backdrop for the adventure to come. For the Gold Medal you’ll need to make the journey as quickly as possible while picking up Javier just outside the Camp entrance.
As the wagons cross the water, Arthur’s wagon will lose it’s wheel. Quickly jump off the wagon and pick the wheel up, following the onscreen instructions to reattach it. From here, work the horses as hard as you can, the path is relatively straight without too many turns and you’ll need all the pace you can get. Midway through the journey, Hosea will hand over some herbs for crafting or consumption and then you’ll be able to increase the speed a bit more. Maintain this high speed until you hear Javier call out to you and bring the wagon to a full spot by holding the [R1]/[RB] button to allow him to jump on. It’s just a short distance from here to your new camp, a place you’ll be spending a lot of time as Chapter 1 ends and the world opens up to you.
