This is one of the more difficult missions to obtain a Gold Medal on due to the sheer amount of enemies that you’ll have to deal with and the short amount of time you have to do it in. Be sure to bring a rifle and a Pump-Action Shotgun with you before you meet with Micah and Dutch, the shotgun especially will be very useful during this mission. Dutch unveils his plan to go and deal with Cornwall, who should be arriving at the docks in Annesburg shortly. Against Arthur’s best wishes, head to the docks and take cover behind the crates to await the arrival of the boat.

Following Cornwall’s death, the carnage truly begins and you’ll be on the clock as you need to get through the wave of enemies and to the horses within 2 minutes 45 seconds. This is extremely tight so you’ll need to be on the move constantly rather than hiding behind cover. This is where the shotgun comes in use as you don’t need to worry about accuracy or headshots here so keep moving forward gunning them down as Arthur and Dutch make their way to meet Micah.

(1 of 2) Avoid cover and shoot while in the open to save time

Avoid cover and shoot while in the open to save time (left), Dead Eye is useful here to take out this group quickly. (right)

From the docks, you’ll have to deal with a group of Pinkertons behind the crates, stand in the open and gun them down before moving to the right with Dutch. After you take the next wave of enemies here, Dutch draws your attention to the left where Micah is in some distress, take the Pinkertons out and then dash up the stairs.

You’ll need to keep on the move in these tight spaces, thnakfully the shotgun is brutal up close and will make quick work of the few Pinkertons in here. Once you reach the conveyor travelling up, don’t stop, dash up to the top and take out the Pinkerton taking aim. At the end of this building you’ll come across one last wave of Pinkertons before you reach the horses, take aim at the oil wagon at the back to wipe some out before cleaning up the rest.

(1 of 2) Dash up the conveyor rather than trading shots with the Pinkerton at the top

Dash up the conveyor rather than trading shots with the Pinkerton at the top (left), shoot the oil wagon to help clear some enemies out. (right)

You’ll be on horseback for the final section of this mission as you’re pursued by mounted Pinkertons. Dutch and Micah are useful here but you need to make sure you take out at least three of them with Arthur, all being headshots. Make use of Dead Eye here as you won’t have much time to turn and aim without hitting a tree. Once the last of the Pinkertons fall, continue down the river to complete the mission.

Be sure to score at least three headshots during the escape.
