There’s a large variety of materials to gather while exploring Pandora and each of these is extremely useful for crafting stronger equipment, ammo for your Bow / Guns, and making food with additional benefits. Unfortunately, some of these resources can be difficult to come across as they can only be found in specific locations. If you are struggling to find Cave Roots, then continue reading for tips on how to find it!
Where to Find Cave Roots in Avatar¶
Cave Roots can only be found in the second region, known as Upper Plains, so you’ll need to progress through the story until you have completed the eleventh main mission The Wandering Clan. Upon reaching the second region you’ll want to start exploring the various caves which are scattered around if you want to find some Cave Roots. However, not all caves have them but we’ve managed to track down where you can find some. You’ll want to visit the cave that is located to the west of Zakru Falls which can be found in The Celebration Valley sub-region of the Upper Plains. When you come across Cave Roots, you’ll want to gather it by holding the analog stick down to get pristine quality.
What are Cave Roots Used for in Avatar¶
There are various qualities of Cave Roots, such as Fine, Superior and Exquisite, but the lower quality versions are easier to come by. Cave Roots are a type of material used for crafting stronger Heavy Bows with the additional effect of Focused Draw which doubles the heavy bow exhaustion timer. This is important because as you progress further into the world of Pandora, you’ll start coming across harder enemies / wildfire so keeping your equipment updated will make your encounters a lot easier. Additionally, Cave Roots are an item that you’ll need to contribute to the Over Gentle Water Na’vi Camp for a quest.
How to Get Exquisite Cave Roots in Avatar¶
You’ll want to try and get your hands on the Exquisite Cave Roots as this will increase your chances of getting the best stats possible for your Heavy Bow. Unfortunately, Exquisite Cave Roots can’t be found in any cave. The higher quality versions of this material can only be found in caves near the Blistering Roots and we’ve only managed to come across this in the Cascading Stones sub-region of the Clouded Forest. This is the third and final region of the game, so you’ll need to progress through the game a lot before you can gain access to it.
