Materials in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora can be tricky to find, as the game doesn’t outright show you their locations. It makes you actually hunt for them, and some materials are trickier to get than others. One such item is the Sky Rock Moss, an elusive material that you likely won’t find unless you take to the skies. This page will reveal the best locations for the Sky Rock Moss, as well as give tips on how to harvest it.

Where to Find Sky Rock Moss in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora¶
As the name suggests, Sky Rock Moss is found in the sky. You will be able to obtain it from the Kinglor Forest region, but you will need to get up pretty high to get it. In fact, it’s designed so that you would need your Ikran to get to the floating mountains. It is possible to actually reach some areas where the Sky Rock Moss grows, although you will need to do some “cliff climbing” to reach those higher altitudes.
You’re basically looking for little ledges on the side of a cliff and continue jumping/full jumping up the side. This can’t be done everywhere, as some cliffs do not have these little ledges. However, you can do this in certain spots, like getting up on top of the Woodsprite Arches (the northern end is definitely possible). While you’re at a very high elevator, you want to look for trees. Don’t forget to use your Na’vi Senses to look for items you can scan. You’re looking for the moss on the side of the trees, which will be an orange-colored type of moss.
Sky Rock Moss Uses¶
Like every other kind of moss in the game, Sky Rock Moss is used in the creation of torso armor when crafting.

How to Harvest Sky Rock Moss¶
The majority of materials you harvest in the game will have a pristine condition to them. This is kept intact if you pull the analog stick in a specific direction before plucking the material from its location. If you don’t do this, you will lose that pristine condition and the item’s quality will be slightly diminished In the case of Sky Rock Moss, you will want to hold the analog stick to the right. Additionally, harvest the moss when it’s raining to make it even better quality.
Locations for Rare Sky Rock Moss¶
Most Sky Rock Moss you find will likely be of Fine quality, but there is an area where you can find Superior or Exquisite quality. To find these iterations, you will need to head to the floating mountains above the Shadow Wood area of the Kinglor Forest. These are the large series of floating islands you see towards the southwestern portion of Kinglor Forest. However, there doesn’t seem to be any way up there without the Ikran.
